The moment those words left his mouth, my heart felt like it stopped.
For just a moment it did.
His emerald green eyes shone under the light of the table lamp.
I didn't know how to respond.
Suddenly it was awkward. Such that I wanted to run away.
I took a deep breath.
Probably I heard it wrong. Maybe it was just my mind going wild.
Easy to talk to? Sure sure. It seem impossible now.
"Erm.. Austin..Have you started on Logarithms?" I asked.
"Yeah. But I'm still stuck on the basics." He answered.
"Okay..I'll teach you again." I said.
As I taught him my mind drifted off to the scene again and again.
Beautiful? No one has ever said that to me. I mean there were guys who did.
But .. when he said that it was completely different.
Maybe it was because a younger dude said that. Yes. That has to be it.
"Do you understand?" I asked.
"Yeah yeah." He replied.
I cleared my throat." Hm.. You know Henry don't you?"
"Henry? Henry Paxton? Yeah. Why?"
"I'm his sister." I smiled." How can he not tell you that?"
"I think he did. But I just forgot." Austin said.
"You can treat me like an other sis. Be free to do so." I hit him playfully.
Austin kept quiet. He didn't say a single word.
Jayne Paxton. He is three years younger than you.
You know how to talk to people like that.
That was all a lie. I can't seem to talk to him.
I felt my energy draining. He wasn't easy to talk to.
He chooses who he talks to.
"Austin I'll leave now." I told him.
Austin looked to me. He smiled a slight smile,"See you."
I walked out of his room as I heaved a sigh of relief.
It felt like my energy came back. The atmosphere in there was so heavy.
"Hey beautiful." Jake smiled.
"Hey." I hugged him.
"Are you alright? You looked really exhausted." Jake said.
"Now I'm not." I smiled.
When Jake said the word ' Beautiful' my heart pounded harder.
I knew what that meant.
The riddle was solved.
"So how was it?" A voice asked.
"It went well. Alexia." I replied.
That wasn't a lie at all. I thought it was okay.
"That's good. Jake please send Jayne home." Alexia said.
"Alright. Come on." Jake led me by the hand.
"Bye Alexia. Thank you for everything." I smiled at her.
"No worries dear. See you tomorrow." Alexia waved.
