Chapter 16

I broke into laughter when he said that.
"Come on! Don't act all nice. I know you wanted to laugh so bad just now."

"It was funny.." Austin smiled."But at the same time I see a different side of you. And to me .. all sides of you are beautiful."

I froze.Why was he saying all these? This reminded me of the first time we met.

When he told me I was beautiful...

Carefully, I looked into his eyes. These words of his were sincere,passionate and most importantly true.

Austin stood up before me."Do you how it feels like..to control something that's overwhelming you..?"

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"I mean..this.." Austin moved closer to me and held my arms.

His face grew closer to mine.

My face heated up and my heart pounded harder.

What was he trying to do?

"Jayne! What's taking so long?" Samantha opened the door.

Austin brought himself away from me when he heard her voice.

"Austin! You're up. Great! Bring a change of clothes and whatever you need for camping. You too, Jayne." Samantha stated.
"Camping? I thought we were just going for a swim?" I asked.

"Nah. Camping is way more fun." Samantha walked out of the room.

That left Austin and I alone.

"Erm..I'm gonna pack.." I said softly and ran out of the room.

My heart was still beating really fast and my hands were still trembling.

Lucas' words echoed in my head.

Am I really falling for Austin? I stared down at my trembling hands.

That couldn't be..

I know I still love Jake..

But..I cannot lie about what I'm feeling right now..

This heat and passion..

Perhaps deep down I yearned for Austin?

Or maybe I just enjoyed his company?

There's no use for all these excuses...

I know I trembled at his touch just now.

No..Jayne Paxton..you can't.

You wouldn't want to be hurt again won't you?

Austin loves another.

I have to control myself before I go down this road..

I was still getting over Jake. I can't invite anything else in my heart.

At least for now. It has no room left..

I placed my clothes into the bag. I brought along portable charges since there won't be a power source there.

Samantha walked in."Hey Jayne, you alright?"

"Y-y-yeah...I'm feeling perfectly alright." I said.

"You sure? Because you don't look alright."She continued."Hold on! Did Austin do anything to you?"

"N-no." My face turned red as I recalled what happened earlier.

"Oh yes..oh yes..He did something...what did he do? He definitely did something. Your face's red." Samantha folded her arms.
