"My face is a hundred times brighter when I see your face.
My soul is a Hundred times happier when your soul is near.... RumiIt was the morning after they arrived on Takodana. Mist swirled up from the ground and covered everything in dew. As the suns came out, the rays caused the delicate droplets to sparkle and shimmer like tiny diamonds. The world held its breath and waited in anticipation.
Today Ben and Rey were to have their Dyad sealed.
The tranquility of the morning was in stark contrast to the young woman getting ready for her wedding. Rey woke up with a pounding headache and a stuffy nose. A steaming cup of herbal tea was next to her bed waiting for her. It was supposed to calm her nerves and help with morning sickness. She still had bouts of it from time to time and she felt as if she would need a basin to get sick in. Maz had smiled at this and gave to poor frazzled girl a hug. It was time to tell Rey about what to expect tonight. When Maz had finished Reys face was as red as her nose.
Then there was the problem with the dresses. She worried that all the dresses Maz had were ugly and not appropriate. The night before found Rey frantically trying on dresses Maz had hidden away in a trunk. She didn't think she'd find anything to fit over her growing belly. But years ago Maz had found a very beautiful dress that would fetch a high price on the underground market. But she knew she couldn't sell it when she picked it up and had a vision of who's dress it used to belong to . It belonged to none other than Padme' , the beautiful wife of Anakin Skywalker. She collected Jedi relics and anything relating to them. She knew one day a very special young woman would be privileged enough to wear it.
Rey was that lucky girl. It almost fit perfectly. She and Padme' were close to the same height but not as thin. Maz had it altered with extra panels for the baby bump. Then Maz had another surprise for Rey. "You need a crown my dear, you are a royal princess after all." She had a brief recollection of when Ben had called her 'nothing' , now he was marring a princess.
Maz brought out a wreath of white roses and Takodanian crystals. It sparkled when she placed it on Rey's head. She had never been called a princess before and it warmed her heart and calmed her nerves.
Maz looked her up and down and declared her ready. " No , there's one more thing I need". Rey turned and rummaged through her knapsack, and pulled out her Aki Aki talisman. She knew she had to wear it. It bridged their connection. It was the necklace that helped lead her to the portal and to Ben.
Rey , in her eagerness to get to Ben was about to dash out the door but Maz held up a hand to stoped her. " One more thing child, let me give you a blessing and some advice. You are blending your life to a very complicated , complex and extraordinary man, and if you are gentle and understanding with him he will do anything for you , so be wise in what you ask him." "He is passionately in love with you and I know you are the same with him." Then in her own language she exclaimed , "Baa shil Ho' zhae !" "I am happy for this day!
