Today is my birthday! Today I am officially sixteen years old. Your only 16 years old once. I promise you, it took me forever to do my hair. I straightened it and I didn't like it so I added some curls. It didn't look right to me. I screamed out in frustration. My dad knocked on the door laughing at me and my messed up hair.
"Need help?" I stared at the mirror that I sat in front of. My hair was still knotty and frizzy. I looked back at him and nodded.
"Yeah I do." He washed my hair and blow dried it. He said It was called a blew out. He then started to curl it a bit. All I could do was look at how amazing it had looked. When I tried to touch it my dad smacked my hand away.
"When I was younger I would do my little sisters hair all the time. We didn't have a mom so I kind of took that role. I didn't want you to grow without a mother. That's the only reason I took her back. So you could be happy." His hands was on my shoulders and he was looking at our reflection. I want him to know that all I need in my life was him. He was an amazing father he didn't to suck up what he feels because of her. I should tell him what she do to me. I have to. It hurts me. The bruises she gave me wasn't an accident.
"Dad..." I said turning to him. He looked at me with shining eyes that seem happy.
"I need you to know...-" I saw Gloria pass by with her eyes angrily set on me. I was frighten by how she looked at me. All I could do was think about how she wasn't afraid to kill me. Even though I wasn't there that day I can see the image of my little brother being hit by another car. I wanted to scream it out but what will happen next?
"What is it baby girl?" He said looking back to what I was looking at. I was grabbing the chair and looked back at my dad. I tried to hid that I was scared to tell him the truth. I smiled.
"I got a boyfriend!" I said Excitedly. I never told him but now he knows. I am close to my father so why not tell him.
"Really?" He said with his arms crossed and a worried face over taking his excited voice which quivered a bit.
"Yeah. One year and eleven months. I think we are getting serious. The reason why I am telling you is because I want you to meet him and his family today." He was trying his best holding in his questions. He never dealt with me in a relationship. I knew he knew that he will have to deal with it sooner or later. He stood there still for a moment smiling. I squeezed his arm to see if he still had a pulse. He blinked rapidly looking like he was trying to figure what to say.
"Umm why you wait so long to tell me." He said grabbing a chair and sat next to me. He sat uncomfortablely. I wanted to calm him down. I didn't know he would be this uneasy. He's a father and in his eyes I am still his baby girl. I didn't mind being his baby girl. As long as I have freedom I am ok.
"It's my first relationship and I didn't know if it was real and I tried to find a way to make sure that it was good enough to present to you." He smiled at me. This time it was calm and it was better then any smile he gave me today. It was like he was going to cry or something but he didn't. He just patted my shoulder.
"Baby girl anything you present to me is good enough for me. I know that you are a smart young lady and you wouldn't do anything stupid or bring anything bad to the table. I know this guy is good. Just know I won't go easy on him." I loved when he trust me. That is his best quality is trust. He know me. Even though he is probably not my real father he felt like it. I believed it. He was my real biological father in my heart. I couldn't help but hug him. I hugged him tight and he returned the love by hugging me back.
"Thank you daddy." I release him.
"I didn't want you to grow up. I wanted to give you a potion that will make you small forever and lock you in your room." I laughed at the thought he had. He laughed too.
