----------&----------

Amy is sitting at the patio table in her garden, looking up at the night sky. Willow exits the house, wearing a long green waterfall cardigan and some flared out jeans. She's carrying a bottle of white wine and she places it on the table, sitting next to her mother as she pours it into two of the three wine glasses out.

There's a flash of light and Willow turns as Amy starts speaking "Heard there was a freak meteor shower two miles away,"

"So, I got us a bottle," Willow gestures

"Thank you, Sweetie" River pores herself a glass and sits down next to Willow, opposite Amy.

"So, where are we?" Amy asks

"I just climbed out of the Byzantium. You two were there. So young..." You didn't have a clue who I was," River tells Amy "You're funny like that. Where are you?"

"The Doctor's dead..." Amy takes a sip of her wine as she looks down and Willow looks at River, silently asking her a question they both knew the answer to.

"How are you doing...?"

"How do you think?

"Well, I don't know unless you tell me,"

Amy pauses for a moment as she thinks "I killed someone. Madame Kovarian, in cold blood,"

"In an aborted time line, in a world that never was," Willow reminds, having had this conversation before.

"Yeah, but I can remember it, so it happened, so I did it. What does that make me now?" Amy wipes away a tear "I need to talk to the Doctor, but I can't now, can I?"

"If you could talk to him, would it make a difference?" River questions

"But he's dead, so, so I can't,"

Willow looks at River again as she leans forward "Oh, Mum... of course he isn't,"

"Not for River, I suppose," Amy looks at her oldest daughter "You're seeing the younger versions of him running around, having adventures,"

"Yeah, I am. But that's not what we mean,"

"Then what do you mean?" Amy looks between the blonde and brunette and Willow smiles slightly

"Okay. I'm going to tell you what I probably shouldn't...but, oh well, it's not like he can shout at me. The Doctor's last secret," Willow starts "Don't you want to know what he whispered in my ear?"

"He whispered his name,"

"Not his name, no," River shakes her head

"Yes, it was. He said it was,"

"Rule One?" Willow smirks

"The Doctor lies,"

"So, do we, all the time. Have to. Spoilers. Pretending I don't know you're my mother, pretending I didn't know Poppy was Willow, pretending I don't recognise a space suit in Florida..."

"What did he whisper in your ear?" Amy asks Willow, slowing starting to get it

"Oh, that man. That  stupidly brilliant man...he's always one step ahead of everyone. Always a plan,"

"Willow, what did he tell you?" Willow just smiles at River and Amy tries again "Willow!"

Minutes later, Rory returns home from his shift at the hospital and finds Amy, Willow and River in the garden, hugging and laughing.

"Hey!" he steps into the garden "What-?"

"He's not dead!" Amy shouts, grabbing Rory by the shoulders "He's not dead!"

"Are you sure?" he turns to his daughters "River? Willow? Are you really, properly sure?"

"Of course, we're sure. We're his wife and Sister-in-law!".

"Yes!" Amy laughs, "And I'm his...Mother-in-law," Amy stares off into the distance at the realisation

"Father dear, I think Mummy might need another drink!" River jokes

"Don't worry though dad, you're his Father-in-law," Willow adds and Rory's eyes widen.

"Yes...I think we both need a drink," everyone laughs as River pulls Willow into a side hug, whispering something in her ear that makes her smile.

After the small celebration, River and Willow are sat outside on the patio, alone. Willow turns to her sister and before her mouth has even opened, River is responding.

"It's not you fault I'm in Stormcage, we knew one of us would have to 'kill' him,"

"But you didn't, I did – "

"So?" River looks at Willow "You're my sister, I couldn't let you stay in that place after you thought you'd killed the love of your life...I couldn't – "River has to look away "I couldn't let you go through any more pain,"

"But – "

"No. No. You don't have to apologise; you don't have to feel bad. It was my choice and History can't be rewritten that much,"

Willow decides not to fight it, but she takes River's hand, looking her in her eyes "Thank you,".
