How do we rewrite the stars?
Say you were made to be mine?
Nothing can keep us apart
'Cause you are the one I was meant to find

Harry

Today was the day.

I had woken up more excited than I had been since I was in the band, a skip in my step and a tune humming through my lips as I placed my bags by the door, skipping my way back to the kitchen to make myself some coffee that I knew I wouldn't need. This was a new journey for not just me, but for everyone, especially Lila.

She hadn't texted or called me last night, so I assumed and hoped that everything was going great. I knew that she and Stevie and Clara had spent most fo the day yesterday getting her bags ready and such, but I know that she had to be really nervous. I knew that she was starting to trust me and all, and I had made sure to tell Stevie that, but I just want to make sure I don't mess this up for her.

Our first show was later tonight, so we would spend night at a hotel and not just on the bus. San Francisco wasn't too far away, but Jeff had some random excuse for how we needed to take the bus anyway. The bus wasnt very big, so it would only be me, Mitch and Lila, while the others rode together in cars with Jeff. I had texted jeff first thing in the morning to make sure that he and our bus driver Lance had checked everything on the bus to make sure it was ready to go and everything was perfect.

I ate something small, my stomach not being able to take too much out of the excitement and nervousness that brought today along with it. I had placed all of my stuff in the car, keeping a smaller bag in the backseat just in case. I knew Lila was going to be a nervous wreck, especially since it's her first day at the bus and such, but I think I knew the way to calm her down.

Coffee.

She seemed to always have coffee with her so I just assumed that maybe that would calm her down a bit, even if it will give her more energy. So, on the way to her apartment, I had stopped and gotten her some warm coffee since it was a bit cold out today and it was also a bit rainy, something that was an odd and unusual occurrence for California weather.

I pulled up outside the brick buildings, seeing the haze of the rain in the sky as I texted her that I was here, her texting back that she would be down in a minute. I watched fondly as she walked down the stairs, these two cute french braids in her hair as she pulled her suitcase down behind her, me getting out of the car to greet her. She had her sunglasses on even though it was raining, and I took that as a sign that she had a rough night. She wore a baby blue hoodie and some leggings, a pair of sneakers on her feet as she walked towards me.

"Hi," I smile, opening my arms for her to walk into, hearing her sigh at the feeling as I smile at the scent of her Lavender perfume and plum wash. This was going to be a new thing for us, these hugs. I know that she doesn't get to be taken care of as much as she probably longs to be, and I also know how good hugging someone feels, so why not let her do that.

"Hello," She smiles, pulling away as I take her suitcase from behind her and put it next to mine in the car, her getting into the passenger seat. I slide into the driver's side, her smiling down at the coffee as she gave me a cheeky grin.

"Thank you for the coffee," She says quietly and I watch with a broken heart as she takes off her sunglasses, revealing red-rimmed eyes and dark circles under them both, my hands grasping the steering wheel so harsh that my knuckles turned white.

"Lila," I mumble and she shakes her head, looking out the window and I see the tremble in her hands that proves that she didn't sleep last night.

"You promised you would call me," I say quietly and she looks down at her coffee as I pull out of the apartment lot, her looking out the window almost like she wants to be able to remember this place in a year's time.

"It's not a big deal," She whispers and I let one of my hands rest on her knee, using my thumb to soothe over her freezing skin, even freezing through the pants she wore.

"I told you that I would be there for you...it is a big deal," I mumble and she sighs, slipping her sunglasses back on as I look over at her, it stays quiet for a while as she just sips on her coffee.

"'M sorry," she mumbles and I sigh, shaking my head as I get onto the busy California interstate, seeing traffic for miles and miles. I know she meant well with not telling me about how she feels and such, thinking that she could be a burden on me but I still feel like I need to know. One year is too long to be keeping in all of your feelings and staying away from things you may be afraid of.

"You haven't done anything wrong," I say and I take a quick glance at her as she sets her coffee in one of the cup holders turning towards me a bit as she takes off her sunglasses again, me flickering my eyes from the road to her as she placed them inside the pocket of her hoodie.

"Stevie said to tell you about what I'm excited about when I'm nervous so I'm gonna do that now," She mumbled and I chuckle, nodding.

"Go ahead,"
