"Uhm, hello there", someone cleared their voice. We looked at the source to find Beth smiling at us awkwardly.

"I'm sorry, I had to eavesdrop everything. Not because I wanted to. I was caught up in a situation wherein neither could I walk away, nor could I butt in. So I ended up listening to everything", she explained.

"You wait, girl. There's a nice gift waiting for you in my treasure box", I hissed at her sarcastically. If she had to ask Yohan directly for his parents' numbers, then I would have done it myself! Ugh! She's such an idiot!

"You are Beth, right?", Mum interjected.

"Yes. Bethany Hammington. You guys are Alana's parents, right? It's a pleasure meeting you, Mr and Mrs.Anderson", she giddily shook her hand with my parents.

"Oh, just call me Nicole", Mum brushed it.

"And you can call me Caleb", Dad smiled which she returned.

"Sorry for the late introduction. I'm Yohan Kim", he said awkwardly to which Mum ruffled his hair as a response.

"Now, let's meet Ellis?", Mum questioned.

"Beth, take Mum and Dad to Ellis. We'll follow behind", I said. She nodded and guided my parents in while I grabbed onto Yohan and pulled him aside.

"Hey, I'm really sorry if my parents' intervention was rude", I apologized.

"Don't be sorry. They were just trying to help me", he sighed. I looked into his eyes to get some clue.

"Look, Alana. I understand their plight. But I want time, okay? I need to process everything. I'm not telling they are right, but they aren't wrong either", he smiled. I threw my arm over his shoulder and gushed, "That's like my little boy."

"Oh, don't call me little. I can't be as little as Daddy's little Princess", he teased while I rolled my eyes.

"Oh, shut up."

We then walked in to meet Ellis and found my parents speaking with Mr.Edgar. Beth walked out of Ellis' room and Yohan went in. I gestured to Beth to meet me in the waiting room.

"Hey. You've got something to tell?", she asked as she sat beside me in the waiting room.

"First of all, you idiot! If you were going to ask Yohan for the numbers then you could have told me right! I would have asked myself!", I chided.

"Woah, calm down, bitch. I thought you were busy and wanted me to ask him", she explained while I rolled my eyes.

"Forget that. I have something to tell you", she smiled brightly. There must be some good news.

"Finn called me yesterday after he came to know about the Stoneridge mishap", she began.

"Wait, who's Finn?", I asked.

"Oh, Finn Miller was my Dad's lawyer. After my parents passed away, he was like a father figure to me", she explained and continued.

"He took me to my aunt's place and fought with her that he'll be taking my custody." My eyes widened in surprise. "Wow. And your aunt let him?"

"Obviously, not. If Finn gets my custody, she'll have to transfer all of that insurance money which she has been using lavishly. And she definitely doesn't want to run dry on luxury. But Finn has decided to take me in. He is going to adopt me soon. I'm going to get a new family, Alana", she revealed. My mouth dropped wide open.

"Oh my goodness! Beth! That's such a great news!", I cried out.

"I know. Finn and Rachel, his wife, have a little son, Charlie. And he's so cute. I'm going to be his sister", she gushed.
