Chapter 10: newly mated alpha pair.

Alex was woken by a pair of lips on his neck, he unconsciously bared his neck, giving the intruder more space to assault his neck. He hummed sleepily at the feeling of lips gently sucking at his neck but pushed the intruder away when he felt a harsh nip.

"Pretty, wake up." Kevin chuckled when his mate pushed his face away from his neck and turned his back to him.

"It's time to wake up pretty, " Kevin kissed Alex's nape trying to wake his mate up as gently as possible.

"Go way Kev," Alex mumbled sleepily.

"You need to wake up pretty, the pack is waiting for their new alpha." Kevin knew it was a dirty trick, but he needed Alex to wake up. Alex turned to face Kevin, his sleep swollen eyes half-open.

"I am up." Kevin smiled at his beautiful mate and dipped down to peck his petal-soft pink lips.

"Good morning pretty." The pack members would faint if they saw Kevin smiling. The cold, tough, ruthless head warrior Kevin couldn't stop smiling looking at his gorgeous mate.

"Morning babe." The pet name made Kevin's heart flutter, at the moment he was the happiest he had even been in the last eleven years. He gently touched Alex's cheek, his lips, his hand wandered to Alex's neck where his mating mark was. He couldn't believe yesterday actually happened and wasn't just a part of his imagination. He traced the bite mark with his thumb causing his mate's breath to hitch, the feel of his mate's skin, the bumps of the bite mark reassuring the tiny part of his conscience that still couldn't believe everything was true and feared the dream would be soon over.

"Don't look at me like that?" Alex caressed his mate's handsome face.

"Like what?"

"Like you can't believe I am here, with you." Kevin wasn't shocked or surprised, he knew his mate was a very observant person and could easily read people. But now he knew his mate could read his thoughts through their connection as well, their mate link. The presence of his mate in his mind made him feel complete.

"I can't believe you are here with me, that we are finally bonded, mated for life. It feels like a dream that would be over soon." Kevin linked his left hand with Alex's and brought the linked hands to his lips. Gently kissing his mate's digits, conveying his love, happiness and thankfulness through the kisses.

"But it's not a dream."

"But it was a dream for me, till the moment yesterday, you came to find me. It was a dream, a dream I saw with my eyes open and closed, a dream that seemed so farfetched. People think I am fearless, ruthless but I was living in the fear of losing the only chance of finally living and not just surviving. You don't know what you are to me, Alex. My heart surrendered itself to you the day my wolf caught the whiff of your addicting scent. I was afraid Alex, I was afraid you won't want a mate like me, but you accepted me, and I am thankful for that. Thank you mate." Alex's heart squeezed hearing his mate's fear and uncertainties.

"I love you." Kevin smiled at his gorgeous mate, even with bed head and swollen eyes his mate was breathtakingly beautiful.

"I love you too pretty."

"You should smile more, smile looks good on your face." Kevin's smile was breathtaking, Alex wasn't even sure when was the last time he saw Kevin smile.

"Before I didn't have a reason to smile, but now I do." Alex never in a thousand years imagined Kevin would be such a sweet talker.

"What a sweet talker?" Alex lightly teased Kevin causing him to chuckle. The throaty sound made Alex's breath hitch.
