Chapter 45: The Perfect Surprise

Link was back at work for some board meetings and investment opportunities. He wanted to take Amelia and her friends lunch. He cleared his lunch and ran to pick up some lunch for all of them. He got in the car and dialed Derek's number.

"Hey Link whats up?" Derek happily answered.

"Is Amelia, Mer, Arizona, Maggie, Carina, Callie and April out of surgery?" Link questioned picking up speed.

"Yeah they are in the attending lounge with me why?" Derek asked.

"No reason, damnit. Sorry people are driving slower than a half blind 90 year old." Link cussed getting mild road rage.

"I will talk to you guys later." Link said and hung up the phone.

He pulled into a parking spot and got the food he ordered. He ordered enough to feed the whole damn hospital at that rate. He had a small red box with silver ribbon for Amelia and inside- the keys to their home.

Kate had designed it and he liked it so he hired a builder. While they planned their wedding and went on their honeymoon he had the home built and it was ready. Fully furnished and all.

He pulled into a parking spot at Grey+Sloan and carried all the food in with him. He walked up to the attending lounge just to hear the perfect thing.

"Is anyone going to get lunch I'm dying." Maggie sighed. Link knocked on the door and before opening it to have everyone's eyes light up at the sight of food.

Amelia ran over and kissed him after he put the food down. He handed her the box and she skeptically opened it. Her eyes widened and she exclaimed.

"Link I swear to god if you bought me another car-". Amelia started.

"It's not a car, it's the keys to our home Amelia." Link smiled which causes Amelia to jump in his arms.

They pulled into the driveway and took Amelia's hand as they got out the car. He handed her the shiny new key and smiled.

"Welcome home Amelia." He beamed as she grinned at him sliding the key into the lock.

She opened the door and her eyes filled with tears, the walls had pictures from their wedding and holidays. The interior was white and black with gold accents- luxurious like him. It was pristine but just felt like home with him.

They walked through and Link described every detail of the house to Amelia who listened intently.

"Okay so beside our bedroom is this room. I don't quite know what we'll do with it yet but every other room in the house is furnished." Link chuckled.

Amelia took a deep shaky breath and took Link's hand in hers. She smiled wide at him. She had been waiting to tell him this.

"I know what we can use the room for Link." Amelia smiled, she reached into her back pocket and handed Link the positive pregnancy test. She watched as his face went from confused to shock to joy.

"I'm gonna be a dad?" Link questioned the joy radiating off his face.

"You're gonna be a dad." Amelia smiled with tears streaming down her face. He kissed her and then hugged her tight.

"I love you." He said holding her close.

They both had perfect surprises.
