[Seattle]
He wasn't answering her calls. Amelia had gone only this morning having a brief phone call with him. She wanted to date and to do this right. All of her friends had tried to reassure her that she was being delusional and that Atticus liked her a lot but she wanted the reassurance from him answering his damn phone.

The day dragged on and Amelia checked the world clock- he couldn't possibly be in a business meeting the entire day. She drove her self back to Derek's and laid in her bed staring at the ceiling contemplating whether to call Atticus a 9th time. He should have been answering her. She decided it was time to panic.

[Berlin]

"I missed so much Kate." Atticus replied spinning the brunette around in a circle before putting her down and helping her with her bags.

"So you call my ass out to Berlin for a business meeting for what reason?" Kate teased him, she knew exactly what buttons to push to make Atticus or "Atty" as she called him, laugh and smile.

"I want you to design me a house to call all my own, I live in a penthouse but I want a home Kate." Atticus replied sincerely, he knew him and Amelia might not last forever but if they were going to date he wanted somewhere she could come home to at night and feel safe and could fill with love.

"I can do that Atty, I have some foundations on my laptop we can go over at breakfast. And you can tell me all about this new lady in your life." Kate smiled at her friend. They grabbed their things and Kate made sure to get her laptop from her car.

They made it to the ice cream shop- yes they wanted ice cream at 8:00 A.M. Kate pulled out her laptop and pulled up the options that she had for him. Atticus scrolled through not being able to decide what he wanted to be his home.

"Kate why did you leave me all those years ago?" Atticus asked, he partly brought Kate here to design his house but at the same time he wanted closure. He wanted closure so he didn't make the same mistakes that made Kate leave him, he didn't want Amelia to leave him.

"You buried yourself in work, I wanted attention you didn't give me. I'm okay Atty. Go home to Amelia, she's waiting for you." Kate smiled to him, she wanted him to move on and be happy.

"Thank you Kate, I owe you." Atticus smiled at the brunette. Grateful she was willing to meet him and grateful he knew how to make things right with this relationship.

"Don't mention it Atty. I missed you anyways." Kate giggled, even though they didn't date anymore Kate was still Atticus' best friend, he always asked her opinion and advice on everything. They were those kinds of ex's.
