Chapter 10: You Are Nothing To Him

Anastasia began to walk off Amelia following silently behind her. It was an actual tour for the first few minutes until they reached a staircase only accessible if you owned the building. It was dark and cold and reminded Amelia of a dungeon. She didn't like it and worried about what this 14 year old would do- she was little but Amelia could already sense the power she held in the family.

"Listen I get that you think my brother likes you and that you have a chance with him but trust me. You don't, in the grand all of the universe you are nothing to him. He could care less whether you two dated or made it. I know what you want, you are like every other girl he's ever dated- you want his money because frankly you look rough." Anastasia coarsely snapped at Amelia in the dark stairway.

"I don't want your or your brother's money I just want to get to know him, I need a fresh start Ana." Amelia tried to reason herself against the tormenter who was almost an entire foot shorter than her with heels like the ones she had on. It was like arguing with a garden gnome, a really scary garden gnome.

"It's Anastasia for you, only Atticus gets to call me Ana. Also your fresh start is irrelevant since your still in a relationship playing house with your ex husband or your husband. Wow you really enjoy sleeping with other guys while being in a relationship." Anastasia said with an awful, evil smile plastered across her face.

"Okay tour over." She said, changing from evil to rainbows at the drop of a hat. They walked out of the staircase and back to where the family was. Amelia couldn't get her words out of her mind, she really was playing house with Owen but they weren't married so would being interested in Link make her a cheater, Amelia had the sneaking suspicion Atticus would believe too much of what Anastasia said to him and that made her worry.

Atticus drove her to Meredith's and Derek's. He got out the car and before she could open the door to walk in. He kissed her, she didn't pull away but leaned into it. After they finally broke the kiss Amelia was beaming. "I had a perfect night with you Amelia and my family really loves you, thank you for accompanying me." Atticus said kindly to her.

"Thank you for inviting me, I'll see you sometime soon?" Amelia asked hopeful. She wanted this to work out. When she met Owen she buried herself in him. This time if her and Atticus worked out she wanted to do it right.

"No you won't." He said to her, her face dropped thinking maybe Anastasia had told him everything but he noticed her face and took it carefully in his hands. "Because you will see me tomorrow night, 7:00 don't be late. Bruno will come for you. Have a good night Ms. Shepherd."

And with that he walked away smiling back at her as he got into his car and pulled away. She walked into the house where Mer and Derek were sitting with their kids as she sighed and leaned against the door.

"If you are going to make out with people please don't do it in front of our small children." Meredith said, causing everyone on the couch to erupt in laughter. "How was the ball, how was the bratty sister, how's the hot guy?" She questioned her sister-in-law wanting all the details. Amelia sat down and explained it all finally ending with "I got ambushed in a dungeon of a staircase by a 14 year old, who in their right mind is afraid of a fucking 14 year old?!"
