Christmas Morning

5:00- That is when Link's alarm went off. He got himself out of bed and changed from one pair of pajamas into some Christmas ones. Just basic black and red plaid bottoms and red long sleeve shirt. He gathered up his boxes for Amelia and the car- he drove the car he bought her to her house.

Amelia was awoken to all the kids screaming in her room to get up so they could see what Santa had brought them. Maggie was up inhaling coffee, Meredith and Derek were taking videos and Amelia was smiling and laughing waiting on Link to come celebrate with her.

He rang the doorbell and Amelia dashed over to it. He came in and sat all the presents he had bought down so he could hold his girl in his arms. He kissed her and she beamed. They sat down and began to open presents. Amelia had gotten him something simple but something she knew he would enjoy. It was a silver ring very basic but engraved in it was their first "date" which was their lunch date: September 19th. He smiled and kissed her cheek.

"I love it Amelia, it's perfect like you." Link said whole heartedly. Christmas for him was just opening gifts and then everyone sits around drinking coffee and just relaxing. But with Amelia even though there was no silence in the house- he felt like they were the only two people in the world.

"Oh I have one more gift for you Amelia." Link said after he had watched Amelia open her other gifts just as excited as the kids were opening theirs. He led her outside and she gasped when she saw the brand new Range Rover parked in the driveway. He handed her the keys and she kissed him.

"It's beautiful you shouldn't have Link." She said as he spun her around. The ground was covered in snow but they didn't mind. Amelia got in and examined every part of the car, the brown leather interior with black accents. She felt almost too poor to be in this car even though- it was now hers.

"You should take it for a test run." Link suggested. Amelia started the car and pulled out of the driveway. The music was blaring and Link enjoyed watching how happy Amelia was.

They came back inside while Meredith and Derek and Maggie began making breakfast, Maggie had sent DeLuca out to get batteries, screwdrivers and everything they would need for all these new toys the kids were dying to play with.

"Tell me your favorite Christmas memory." Amelia said her arms wrapped around Link. She was in a bliss bubble because for the first time everything in life felt like it was going the way she had always dreamed.

"I dont have many good ones but I guess the Christmas I got this really cool notebook. I had a leather cover and the pages were pristine and perfect. One of the best and only gifts I've ever gotten." Link said trying to stay optimistic, he was referring to his days at the El Royale and Amelia knew that but Link didn't know Kate had told Amelia.

Nobody was supposed to know about his days at the El Royale.

-

Breaks fast was served and DeLuca came back only to be bombarded by kids asking for batteries of all kinds. The kids played around the living room while the adults at breakfast.

Amelia was never a big Christmas person, her family was functional enough for that or she was always high when the holiday came around.

Link on the other hand didn't know what a true Christmas felt like until Eric and Maureen adopted him. The El Royale never gave him a proper Christmas or proper anything for that matter.

So they sat there, enjoying their snow my morning. Perfectly content with where they had ended up in their life.

But sometimes it's not the holidays that are hectic, it's what happens after the holidays.

A/N: okay i know two updates in a day but this chapter is pretty much a run on of the last chapter so it was easier just to put it out here anyways
