Christmas Eve
He had it all lined up. Atticus was ready to ask Amelia to be his girlfriend. He had the perfect plan, he had rented out a venue for a Christmas Eve fit for a queen. It was the same location as the Christmas Eve party but a separate room he had decorated just for her. The room was dimly lit with rose petals fallen on the floor. Candles all around and the room smelled of fresh flowers. Atticus had himself dressed in a tux with a bow tie and had somewhat done his hair. He left his penthouse and drove to get his girlfriend.
Meredith and Maggie were helping Amelia on the final touches of her outfit. A wine red wrap dress that was a body con with a V-neck. She paired with silver jewelry and sultry silver heels. She had curled her short hair and done her makeup. Her sisters continued to tell her how perfect she looked and even Derek said she looked pretty.
"Have lord of fun Amy but not that much fun- I don't need another niece or nephew for a little bit." Derek joked shoving his sister slightly. She grabbed her clutch and walked to the living room in Derek and Meredith's house. The hospital was hosting a party but Amelia would rather go see Atticus than have to see Owen or Teddy. The doorbell rang and Meredith opened it to find Atticus standing there with a bouquet of deep red roses.
"Merry Christmas Eve Amelia, you look like a vision." He said smiling wide at her. She pulled him in for and kiss and said "you look handsome Link." Link. That was the nickname she had chosen for him. It was simple but he liked it- it suited him. They said their goodbyes as the rest of the house scrambled to get dressed for the hospital party.
They had arrived and the party was going steady, Amelia didn't drink and Link was just enjoying himself with his girl. He shot loving glances at her every chance he got. It was finally 11:00 he knew he had to have her home by 11:45 so he opted to ask her now.
He lead her to the room with a blindfold over her eyes while she laughed, begging him to not run her into a wall. He got in the position in front of her and told her to take off the blindfold. She took it off and gasped, tears began to build in her eyes.
"Link it's so beautiful, what is it for?" Amelia wondered while trying to not cry.
"It's December 24, Christmas Eve and while I got you other gifts- this is my biggest one. So the best way I could ask you this is to tell you 24 reasons why I love you. " Link said smiling wide at her.
The list went as follows:
1. Your beautiful heart.
2. Your caring soul.
3. Your willing to try new things.
4. Nothing scares you.
5. You are adorable with kids.
6. You love me for me.
7. Your eyes are prettier than the ocean.
8. You have an adorable dimple when you smile.

12. Every time I look at you I fall a little more in love with you.
13. You give 1000% into everything you do.

15. You gave me a nick name all my own.
16. You give really good hugs.
17. You are the best dancer partner.

19. Your smile could light up the world.
20. Every time you walk into the room it's like the world stops spinning.
21. I could spend every second of my life with you and never get tired of your company.
22. You are beautiful not only on the outside but on the inside.
23. Your laugh is contagious.
24. Your joy radiates through the room.
"I'm being brave and I will try to be vulnerable with you but will you do me the greatest honor and officially be my girlfriend? Meaning 'sleepovers' at my house, date night at least 3 times a week, weekend trips, family vacations. All of it- I want to give you the world Amelia Shepherd." Link said with tears beginning to spill from his eyes.
"Nothing would make me happier." Amelia said wiping her tears before gently running her fingers on his cheek to wipe away his. He spun her around then kissed her passionately. She was officially his.

After a night of passionate love-making Amelia was laying on Link with her fingers drawing lines on his collarbone. She remembered what Kate had told her about his chest so she avoided it as much as she could.
"I should probably go back to Derek's, I have to help set up Christmas for the kids." Amelia said. Link and her put on clothes and he kissed her one last time.
"I will see you tomorrow morning- bright and early. First Christmas with my girlfriend." Link loved saying that- it had a very nice ring to it.
"Christmas morning with my boyfriend." Amelia giggled like a teenager in love.
Instead of going home and waiting for Santa to come, Amelia went home and waited for Link to come and pay her a visit.
