College sweethearts Raegan and Jiles ended on rocky terms but when Jiles is traded to the Boston Celtics, the same city Raegan has just moved to to escape her old life, will they meet again and rekindle what they once had or will they let go of each...
I lit some candles around my apartment and turned on some old school R&B while I cooked. Not having a roommate was still kinda weird to me but on nights like this I enjoyed being able to just vibe out on my own.
"Real love...I'm searching for a real love," I belted out loudly. I carefully made my plate and sat down eating, happy with how everything came out. I rented a random movie that had just been released and relaxed into my sofa.
When I heard a knock at the door I assumed it was a neighbor or maybe Ky or Tae were popping up on me. The last person I expected to see at my door step was Jiles.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, placing a hand on my hip and looking him up and down. "How do you even know where I live?" I kept questioning.
"Don't trip. I just had to see you again. After you said you didn't want me to text you I figured I'd just drop by and see how you were doing," he grinned. He had a box in his hand and although I was interested in knowing what was inside, I didn't like that he just showed up unannounced.
"You've got a lot of nerve. After everything I don't understand why you're trying so hard to be my friend now," I said.
"If you let me inside I can tell you," I hesitated but opened the door up so he could come in. "Well damn, am I interrupting a date or something?" He asked, looking around at all the candles.
"No, I just like the ambiance," I said, turning the lights on.
"You can keep them off, I don't mind," he chuckled, setting the box down on my coffee table.
"I do," I said. I definitely did mind. I did not want to be in the dark with him. He shrugged and opened the top of the box revealing gold roses. I stared at them for a moment taking in their beauty then snapped out of it. "You know I don't like flowers," I stated as if I was unimpressed.

"Because they die, I know. These last a year. No watering necessary," he cheesed. I lifted the box, feeling the flowers. They were real, and they were gorgeous.
"Why'd you bring them?" I asked, setting them back down.
"I didn't want to bombard you and be empty handed. That'd just be rude," I took a seat on my couch and he joined, sitting a little too close. "Look, what I did, I can never take back. I can never take that hurt away even though I wish so badly that I could. I've never-" he stopped like he was looking for the right words. "I've never felt the way I feel for you towards anyone else. I've tried to get over you, I really have but you are who I'm meant to be with. You are the only person that can complete me. I know I'm not worth it but all I'm asking for is a second chance,"
"I don't think I can give you that," I said after a long pause. I wanted to give in but I was so scared to get hurt by him again.
"Just think about the fact that we're both here right now. In Boston of all places. My contract lasts 4 years. I'm not going anywhere soon. The fact that we're together again after a year is fate and ion even believe in that shit," he chuckled. He was always so against me saying anything was fate so to hear those words from him I knew either he really believed it or he was trying real hard. I think it was a mix of both. "Just let me prove myself. If you want a timeline we can do that, too. Six months?"
