Jiles' POV
I placed my last jacket in my suitcase and zipped it up. I was preparing for a week on the road with five back to back away games. Leaving Raegan was already hard, but leaving her while she was pregnant was even harder. My flight left in a few hours and I was trying to soak in as much time with her as I could.
When I walked out of the bedroom she was laying on the couch watching some reality show. I leaned down kissing her softly before making her sit up for a second so I could sit down. She laid her head in my lap and I played with her hair, gently.
"How you feeling?" I asked.
"Like I miss you already," she said, her eyes still locked on the TV. I moved my hand from her hair to her belly even though she didn't have a bump yet. I still liked to rub it to remind myself there was a little person in there.
"I miss you already, too. And Poodah Jr.," I teased. She swore it was a girl but I knew in my heart it was a boy. We talked to my parents and her grandma a few days ago and gave them the news. Her grandma wanted her to be married and all that old school religious stuff but she was still excited. My mom was over the moon, though. I don't think I'd ever heard her that excited and I know it's because it's Raegan. She swore I was going to slip up and get some random girl pregnant so the fact that my first kid is with someone she adores, she's the happiest future grandma ever.
After a while of laying around I made her get up and get some clothes on so we could go out before I left.
"Pregnant where?" I hyped her up on the way to the car.
"Stoop," she laughed. "I'm not showing yet, you gotta keep doing that even when my belly is huge," she smiled, looking over at me when we got in the car.
"I can promise you that," I grinned back, leaning over to give her a kiss. I loved this girl so much it didn't make sense.
I took her to a cafe we hadn't tried yet. It was quiet inside which I liked. Not a whole bunch of people bombarding us while we ate.
"Where's the first game again?" she asked for the hundredth time. Bad memory wasn't even a pregnancy thing, she just truly had a bad memory.
"Golden State, Sacramento, Phoenix, LA, then Denver," I recited.
"Oh yeah. And LA is Clippers not Lakers," I nodded my head. She'd probably ask again later on this week but I didn't mind.
"I wanna have a serious talk with you," I said, grabbing her hand. She looked into my eyes, waiting to hear what I had to say. "How do you feel about me being gone this long?" I asked. The trip was eight or nine days in total, which was the longest I'd been away from her since we got back together.
"I'm just sad cuz that's so long. You never leave for that long," she said.
"Do you trust me to be gone that long?" I continued. She took a sip of her drink then nodded her head.
