College sweethearts Raegan and Jiles ended on rocky terms but when Jiles is traded to the Boston Celtics, the same city Raegan has just moved to to escape her old life, will they meet again and rekindle what they once had or will they let go of each...
I worried about Jiles all the time, for the smallest reasons. But when playoffs rolled around it kicked my anxiety into overdrive. I didn't know what about this time of year or this time of the season sent him over the edge but I knew him better than anyone and I knew it was coming.
"I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, can you still make it?" I asked, as I laid in bed watching Real Housewives of Atlanta.
"What time is it again?" Jiles asked as he got dressed to go work out.
"2:30," I reminded him.
"You think it'll be quick, I have a workout at 3," he informed me.
"Since when do you work out in the afternoon, you always work out in the morning," I stated, knowing his schedule like the back of my hand.
"It's playoffs baby, grind time," he said, jumping up off the bed. He ran to my side, giving me a kiss on the lips and on my belly before shooting out the door leaving our conversation unfinished. I heard him playing with Dream downstairs and decided to get up. When I got downstairs he was chasing Dream around the living room.
"Ok Dada has to go workout baby," he said, pulling Dream into his arms and hugging her tightly.
"Ow," she squirmed and he loosened his grip some.
"I'm sorry baby. I love you, you love me too?" He asked, playfully tickling her.
"Nooo," she laughed. She realized recently that if she said no he would keep tickling and playing with her.
"Yes you do!" He laughed doing exactly what he wanted. After a few more minutes he put her down and headed to the gym downstairs. Shortly after he left, Isaac and Zamir came strolling through the front door. They greeted Dream and I before heading to the gym as well.
"Isaac, wait," I called out. He backed away from the stairs and walked over to where I was on the couch. "Can I ask you something serious about Jiles?" I said quietly. I was hoping that since Ji never confided in me about hoop he would talk to Isaac who was his best friend and knew the league firsthand.
"Wassup, is everything ok?" He asked genuinely.
"I don't know. I was hoping maybe you would. You know Ji had to sit a game out the other night and with the series 2-1 I don't want him falling into that place he's been in before," I said and Isaac nodded, knowing exactly what I meant.
"He hasn't brought any worries or anger up to me but I'll check in with him and see where his head is at," he offered.
"Thank you so much," I said gratefully.
The rest of my day was spent lounging around with Dream and surprisingly texting Keith. I made it clear things were strictly friendly and he was totally ok with that which added to my level of respect for him.
While Jiles and the guys were still working out I got Dream and I dressed and went over to Kyle's. We brought Sugar along so he wouldn't be in the house alone. As soon as we got there Dream ran outside to the swings and her and Junior played around on the play structure Isaac put up and Sugar was enjoying chasing after both of them.
