Chapter 10: A Decision Made, A Heart Torn

Mingsu was fuming. He couldn't believe he had failed to make his move on Taehyung. He had just begun to cultivate a connection with the omega, but that arrogant Alpha, Jungkook, had swooped in and ruined his plans. His frustration simmered, a bitter cocktail of jealousy and resentment.

"Why did you let Taehyung go with that bastard Alpha?!" Mingsu demanded, his voice laced with anger as he confronted Nicole in their shared home.

Nicole, however, remained calm, her voice laced with a hint of exasperation. "What's wrong with that? Taehyung told me he trusted Jungkook."

"Just because of that? So what if he trusted him? You are his friend, more like his sister. He will surely listen to you if you stopped him," Mingsu retorted, his voice rising in frustration.

"Oh, come on, I'm just his friend. Taehyung can decide on his own. You know that Taehyung wants to live on his own, yet he can't do that because he's unstable. And now he achieved it. Why do you want me to stop him if that makes him happy?" Nicole shot back, her patience wearing thin.

Mingsu, however, was not easily appeased.  "Because of that bastard! You don't know him. What if he hurts Taehyung, huh?! What are you going to do?" he snarled, his voice laced with a venomous undercurrent.

"Why are you babying him? Taehyung ain't a baby. Yes, he is an omega, but that doesn't mean he's weak. As Taehyung said, he can protect himself," Nicole stated, her voice firm and unwavering.

"That doesn't make sense. He's with a Trueblood Alpha. That bastard can easily manipulate him if he wanted to. Taehyung is just an omega! He can't protect himself!" Mingsu spoke solemnly, his voice laced with a mixture of concern and possessiveness.

"Stop! Why are you overreacting?! Why are you being like this? What is it to you if Taehyung leaves? That's not your problem at all. I don't understand why you're acting like this. You're not Taehyung's friend, or even his brother, either way, you shouldn't feel affected by this," Nicole said, her voice laced with confusion.  She couldn't understand Mingsu's sudden outburst.  His possessiveness and frantic reaction were out of character.  He had never acted this way before.

"I'm not overreacting. I'm stating the facts here! How come I can't be affected if I also took care of Taehyung?!" Mingsu growled, his voice laced with a mixture of anger and desperation.

"What are you talking about? You never took care of him. Not even once. Stop claiming as if you are his owner or something," Nicole said, her voice laced with irritation.

"If you should have stopped him, I wouldn't act like this. You can't just simply let Taehyung decide. At least tell me if he said something to you," Mingsu grumbled, his voice carrying a hint of desperation.

"Are you insane? Why would I do that? You are not part of his life. You are nothing to be exact. You don't need to know anything about him. You are my boyfriend, but seriously, this is getting ridiculous. Hearing that coming from your mouth makes me feel uncomfortable," Nicole snapped, her patience finally reaching its limit.

"I have a right to know his decision as well. I should have stopped him from making such a nonsense decision," Mingsu shot back, his voice laced with a mixture of anger and entitlement.

"Shut the fuck up! You know what, this is getting stupid. Just please leave my house. I don't want to see or feel your presence here. Leave now!" Nicole pointed towards the door, her voice laced with a mixture of anger and disgust.

Mingsu, his anger reaching a boiling point, cursed under his breath and stormed out of the house, slamming the door behind him.  Nicole, shaking her head in disbelief, watched him go, her heart filled with a mixture of anger and pity.

Meanwhile, Jungkook and Taehyung arrived at the cabin, a picturesque wooden structure nestled amidst towering pines.  Taehyung was surprised to see a cabin instead of an apartment.

"We're here," Jungkook announced, stopping the car.

"Wait, a cabin?" Taehyung asked, his brow furrowed in confusion.

"What? Is there any problem?" Jungkook asked, turning to look at him after removing his seatbelt.

"It's just, I was expecting to see an apartment," Taehyung muttered, his voice laced with a hint of disappointment.

"Well, this is the only place I could find available. Don't you like it?" Jungkook inquired, his tone laced with a hint of amusement.

"No, uh, let's check the place first," Taehyung said, his voice carrying a note of uncertainty.

"Okay, let's get inside," Jungkook said, stepping out of the car.

Taehyung followed him, his curiosity piqued.  As they entered the cabin, Taehyung was amazed by its cozy and charming interior.  The wood-paneled walls, the warm fireplace, and the large windows overlooking the forest created a sense of peace and tranquility.

"Mr. Jeon, you finally came," a woman greeted them, her voice warm and welcoming.

"I'm glad to meet you, Mrs. Ahn," Jungkook replied, bowing his head politely.

"You didn't tell me there would be two people living here. I should have at least found something better for both of you," Mrs. Ahn said, her gaze shifting to Taehyung.  She was a beta, her demeanor kind and gentle.

"It's okay, Mrs. Ahn. My partner will be staying here first for a while, so it's not a problem," Jungkook replied, his hand casually resting on Taehyung's waist.  The gesture was subtle, yet it clearly conveyed a sense of possessiveness and intimacy.

"It's nice to meet your partner, Mr. Jeon," Mrs. Ahn said, her smile warm and genuine.

Here they were again, mistaken for a couple.  Taehyung was becoming increasingly confused about why people assumed they were partners.

"He's Kim Taehyung, an omega, pup. She's Mrs. Ahn Seong, the owner of this cabin," Jungkook introduced them, his tone casual yet possessive.

"Hi, ma'am," Taehyung said, bowing his head respectfully.

"Hello. Do you guys want to check out the cabin and see if it fits your style?" Mrs. Ahn asked, her voice warm and inviting.

"Yeah, sure," Jungkook replied, his tone confident and assured.

Mrs. Ahn led them through the cabin, explaining the layout and features.  Taehyung was impressed by the cabin's design, its simplicity and warmth appealing to him.  Throughout the tour, Jungkook's hand remained firmly on Taehyung's waist, a silent declaration of his claim.

"But how much is the down payment for this? I mean, the rent? It seems this cabin will be out of my budget," Taehyung said, his voice laced with concern.

"Ahm, what do you mean? This is already paid for by Mr. Jeon," Mrs. Ahn explained, her voice carrying a hint of surprise.

Taehyung looked up at Jungkook, who was patting his waist reassuringly.

"Let's just talk later about that, pup, hm?" Jungkook murmured, his gaze fixed on Taehyung.

Taehyung nodded silently, his heart filled with a mixture of gratitude and apprehension.

"So, what are you guys' thoughts about this cabin?" Mrs. Ahn asked, her voice warm and inviting.

"Did you like this, pup?" Jungkook asked, his gaze fixed on Taehyung, his voice laced with a hint of possessiveness.

"I-I like it," Taehyung said, his voice barely a whisper.

"Then, we'll take this one, Mrs. Ahn. My partner likes it," Jungkook said, his decision firm and final.

"I'm glad you two like it. Well, I guess I'll leave now. Just call me at this number if you guys need anything or want to renovate the cabin," Mrs. Ahn said, handing them her business card.

"Thank you, ma'am," Taehyung said, bowing his head respectfully.

"You're welcome," Mrs. Ahn said, her smile warm and genuine as she left.

Taehyung sighed, biting his bottom lip, his thoughts swirling with a mixture of gratitude and apprehension.  He couldn't believe Jungkook had paid for the cabin without consulting him.
