The next morning, Caspian put down his coffee to finally see Athena walking in, who had been absent from their floor for at least ten hours. Her cheeks had tear stains, but her lips told a different story: an admiring smile was playing at them.

"Where were you? I was worried sick!" Caspian accused.

"Why should you worry? After all, I'm just an extremely aggressive victor, which the games have changed once again." Athena quoted the man's previous words, the thoughtful smile still on her face.

"I'm sorry ok? I just had to say what was and still is true!"

"It's fine, at least I have someone that actually loves and appreciates me." Athena genuinely beamed.

"People out there do actually like you Athena, it's just if you keep acting like this they'll stop."

"I'm so done with you Caspian." Athena fired, whilst walking off towards the door, ready for her private training assessment.

"Who is this person anyway? You haven't even eaten!" Caspian aimlessly shouted after her.

"I'll eat on the fourth floor." Athena happily replied, knowing what she had deliberately done.

"That's Finnick's floor I-" The man was in complete shock.

"Don't you think I know that? Goodbye Caspian." Athena smirked as she went off, with no regrets.

Athena pushed open Finnick's door to return to where she had been only fifteen minutes ago, to find him hunched over a letter on his bed. He looked up at the woman for her only to find tears in his eyes.

She quickly ran over to him and enveloped him in a hug. "What's wrong?" She whispered.

"Oh it's nothing, just a letter Snow sent to me. I received it just after you left."

"What's it say?"

"He killed Annie." Finnick gasped out, truly realising what had happened. His tears signified the fact that she was gone forever, and her innocent heart had a bullet shot through it. Even a few tears rolled down Athena's face at this news, Annie was the most mentally disoriented victor the Capitol had ever created, and that was most likely the reason she had been killed. She knew the dead woman had meant everything to the broken man lying with uncontrollable sobs next to her, she was a tribute under his mentoring, and his best friend.

"I'm so sorry." Were the only words Athena could manage to say.

"He killed her because of her not being in these games - the reaping was definitely rigged so her name would be selected - so the Capitol could receive more entertainment from her - they wouldn't have thought Mags would volunteer - and she's DEAD."

Glancing at the man who had been confident enough to admit his love for her only a few hours before, Athena could see he was the same as every victor ever. Crushed, disheartened, destroyed, manipulated, and mentally caged. He was never as cocky and heartless as the Capitol had presented him as. His sister was once killed for his emotion mask slipping.
