Caspian was the first to notice the familiar shine of Athena's emerald eyes; open and assertive, after the too-long period of time when they were sealed shut, courtesy of the tremors of the games. He sprung into action, grabbing Finnick and tackling him to the ground: also disarming him in the process. Whilst Johanna saw this all unfold, she was confused as to why the man about to end Athena's previous suffering hadn't heard or processed her response: the words that should've been mundane to him.

Peeta instantly aided Athena, who was now shuddering in aghast, in sitting upright; supporting her back. She was prompt to shoot up after having gained full consciousness, checking that everyone around her was alive, and no one was missing.

When she was sure that her allies were well, she turned to Peeta and asked him how long she had been out, to which he replied with telling her that she hadn't been receptive for over a day. Peeta then guided Athena over to the shade of the treeline, offering her some water which she gladly accepted. After that, Katniss wandered over after calming Finnick and asked the woman the question she had been dreading: 'Was what it like in your coma?'

"It was extremely surreal, I thought I was dead because I was sure I saw death itself, but that obviously didn't happen." Athena began, taking short breaths during each pause, "At first it was completely silent, and my body was immune to any pain or feeling, but then my throat became really dry, and I couldn't make any communication to say I needed water desperately. However, I could hear everything after a while. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't speak, or move, or feel, but I could listen. Finnick's sobs of despair, Johanna's actual care for me, your trauma with the jabberjays Katniss, Peeta, your comforting, and Caspian's mostly-hidden sadness for me. I just hope you are all okay, I can't imagine going through what you did."

"Don't worry about us," Peeta replied, staring intently into Athena's eyes, showing care, "I just hope you found a way to cope."

"Oh not really, I just waited for Death to finally decide it wanted to claim me, but then I woke up, after what seemed like an eternity, to a trident about to skewer my abdomen, and a pearl in my hands. Thank you by the way, blue pearls mean support for someone in a tough time, incase you didn't know."

"I just thought it was a kind gesture to you."

"It really was." Athena smiled.

"I think you should go to Finnick now." Katniss turned Athena towards where Johanna and Caspian where collected around the man.

"Well, is someone jealous?" Athena grinned flirtily at the both of them, "But yeah, I'll leave you two to figure out your disagreements."

The woman gripped a damp branch that was jutting over her as she weakly got up and wandered over to the man who had been so worried about her the past 24 hours. At the sound of her muffled steps on the sand, Johanna swiftly turned and smirked at Athena.
