Athena was awkwardly perched on the rim of her bench on the cold, large hovercraft, clasping her fingers together, trusting that this action would ward away any tremors over her parting with Finnick and Caspian. Her trip with Katniss, Gale, Boggs, and Beetee to District 2 was only going to be one night long, but after endless hours confined to a chamber in the depths of the Capitol, seconds felt like minutes, minutes felt like hours, hours felt like days, days felt like weeks, and weeks felt like months.

'Prepare for arrival to District 2 in thirty minutes'  The loudspeaker announced, inducing Athena into shifting her position and wandering curiously over to Katniss, who seemed to be debating strategies with Gale and Beetee.

"...Guess there are no rules anymore about what a person can do to another person." The woman from 8 caught Katniss arguing.

"Hi, Katniss. What you talking about?" Athena flashed her fakest, innocent smile, as she knew what Gale was plotting: unjust death, yet again.

"I don't think Snow used any rulebook when he hijacked Peeta." Gale replied to the Mockingjay, completely discarding Athena's query.

"I am here, and yes, I was tortured too. But that doesn't mean you are right to kill innocents. Oh, that reminds me of something! The Hunger Games!" The victress snapped at the three, rolling her eyes and storming off, agitation enthralling her mind.

"Welcome to District 2," A stranger greeted the newcomers as the plane jolted onto the dusty ground, "I'm Corporal Holmes, follow me please."

Athena surveyed her surroundings as the trudged through the part-destroyed town, sentimentality overcoming her heart as she evoked faded images of Cadmus' piercing brown eyes. This was his District, and he could've made it back here if it wasn't for her senseless actions.

Distant explosions traversed across the air, like memories of another war. Screams diffusing from a large, unknown mountain across the stretch of buildings made her head snap towards it, hoping to help them, but Athena knew deep down she was useless. Quickly after, another explosion that was located closer to her area arose to her worry, but Holmes assured it was just how the loyalists said good morning.

Dirty marble steps leading to the Justice building seemed to be too weak to hold the footfalls of the group, clearly having seen better days. When they finally united with and acknowledged the group working on breaking down 'The Nut's' security breach. In it, there was a middle-aged victor from the District (Lyme was her name), Paylor (who Athena was greatly relieved to see was alive), and a few other generals and leaders.

"President Coin, we are indebted to you for the reinforcements and Mockingjay," Lyme began, explaining knowledgeably towards the President, whose face was shown brightly on a hologram. In front of the middle aged woman from 2, there resided another hologram, but this one presented a projection of a military base. "But I'm not sure that anyone outside of two knows what we've been up against.
