"It isn't your fault."

Those four words felt like he had been punched, a blow that felt harder than anything physically done to him.
'It's not my fault?'
The red and white haired boy was staring at him, his eyes showing he wasn't lying but Izuku couldn't believe him.
'It has to be my fault, if it doesn't, that means it's mum's. That means she doesn't love me at all! She does love me! She only does it to punish me! It's my fault!'

"You're wrong." The words were so quiet that Shoto wondered if he heard them at all. Izuku's eyes filled with tears as he pointed his chopsticks at the other boys face. "You are wrong, it is my fault! I'm the reason for all of it!" Taken aback for a moment Todoroki could only blink in shock.

Midoriya's hands shook as he put down his chopsticks.
"It has to be my fault, its punishment, not abuse!"

Todoroki felt his heart sink. The greenette looked so fragile in that moment. He spoke as softly as the other did, wanting to get his point across.
"Does that mean it was my fault too?"
The boy looked horrified,
"No of course it wasn't your fault!"

Mismatched eyes just stared at Izuku, waiting for the other shoe to drop. He saw when it did. The younger boy's face seemed to crumple, hurt shadowing his face.

Izuku ran. He ran from everything, he ran from the truth.

------

He should have expected him to run but he didn't. Midoriya left his sight almost immediately so he raced off in that direction only to change when the bell rang. As fast as his long legs could go, Todoroki ran towards his classroom, only slowing when he saw Bakugo.

"He's made a run for it after practically admitting what happened. He shouldn't be alone but I don't know where he would go."

Katsuki barely had to think before he ran, Shoto following right behind.

-----

Izuku only slowed when he reached the beach, wiping his eyes roughly. He clenched his hands around a railing as he screamed his frustration out. He couldn't get Todoroki's words out of his head, they played on loop.
'It's not your fault.'

'It's not your fault.'

*It is your fault!*
Gripping his hair in both of his fists.
"Shut up! Shut up! ShutupshutupSHUTUP!"

"Izuku!"

'K-ka-cchan?"

Turning around he saw him and Todoroki.
"Why are you both here?"

"Why the fuck do you think?"

Izuku turned back around, he couldn't face them.
*fucking screw up. Couldn't even last a week without anyone knowing. Useless.*

The two boys moved to either side of him as silent support. No one spoke for a long time, waiting for the greenette to speak.
"Kacchan, what do I do? I-I'm s-so lost." The blonde put his arm around Izuku's shoulder, pulling him close as he cried.
"Tell Aizawa-sensei so she can go to prison like she fucking deserves." Izuku pulled back in shock,
"But, mum only punishes me, I made dad leave."

Shoto cut him off as he put his hands on the small boys shoulder,
"Midoriya, It was your fathers choice to leave and it was your mothers choice to hurt you. It wasn't your fault." Izuku buried his face in Katsuki's neck as he continued crying, the blonde wrapping his arms around the emotionally frail boy.

------

Katsuki felt shaken. He couldn't believe what had been happening all these years right under his nose. If only Izuku had said something,
'But why would he? I buried my feelings for him under hatred. I bullied him relentlessly.'
It was then he remembered Todoroki was also there. He looked hesitant so he grabbed the front of his uniform, forcibly pulling him into the hug.
"Come on Icy hot. Hug us before I fuckin kill you." No one mentioned the tears also running down Katsuki's face as Todoroki's long arms wrapped around them both, his head resting on the blondes.

They were still in that position when Aizawa found them.
