Green eyes stared into lilac, studying the emotions he found there. Calm and understanding.
"Why did you come up here?"
The words left him before he realised, wanting nothing more than to pull them back.
*Get on with it!*
He flinched but was more preoccupied with the boy. He had to know before he died, why? Shinso plopped onto his butt with a sigh,
"Walking through the halls. See a trail of blood. Wanted to see where it goes." He shrugged, "Kinda expected to see a situation like this."
The blāse attitude threw Izuku for a loop. His hand relaxing without him knowing,
"You did? I-I mean w-well yeah, I g-guess you would, but why?" The pale pupils trailed over his body his gaze dull as of he was remembering,
"I've been in your place." Shinsou scrunched his face before relaxing it, "If it wasn't for someone being nosy I would be dead. I am thankful they stuck their nose in, things seem so overwhelming in the moment." He leant back on his palms, staring out at the horizon. There was a silence where all they could hear was the whistling of the wind, then he tilted his head, "So, are you gonna tell me your name? Or am I just gonna keep calling you broccoli boy in my head?"
His words forced a chuckle out of the distressed boy as he leant back, "Izuku Midoriya. You can call me Izuku."
"So long as you call me Hitoshi." The greenette nodded and let out a huge sigh,
'Now I've calmed down things don't seem so bad.'
*Of course they are, you are weak, pathetic, just a stain on existence that should be wiped out!*
'No he's not! I don't understand Batsu, if he dies, we die with him!"
*Exactly! That's the whole fucking point! I don't want to live with these memories! I hate them and want them gone! It's his fault I have them, I was made to hold those memories!*
Izuku was stunned, mouth gaping open as his eyes widened.
'W-what?'
*You heard me.*
'I, I never realised you were hurting so much.'
*What?*
'It's obvious now and I'm sorry. You had to go through so much pain for me-'
*Shut up! Don't pity me, you're worthless! A monster! You deserve to die!*
The insults were weak, hardly any fire behind them.
'Have I had him wrong this entire time? He's just hurting and lashing out.'
"Izuku? What's wrong?" Hitoshi crept forwards, watching the glazed eyes as he reached out, they didn't move, more occupied with what was going on in his head. Taking his moment, his fingers fumbled with the loose grip, sitting back with the blade in his pocket.
The door slammed open, making both the boys jump, if Izuku was still holding the blade, he was sure he would've sliced himself open. Both of them stared at the panting boy as he leant over trying to catch his breath.
"Izuku! There you are bro, you had us all so worried!"
Kirishima, still clad in his hero outfit, rushed forwards and pulled the greenette to his feet where he proceeded to crush him in a hug.
'Can't....breathe!'
Shinso stood, patting the seat of his trousers and stepping close.
"New guy, he can't breathe."
The arms released instantly, letting the small boy gasp in the air he desperately needed, flushing in more than air deprivation when Eijirou's hands cupped his face and their foreheads pressed together.
"Don't worry us like that again."
The redheads voice was low, his breath mixing with Izuku's.
'H-he's so c-close! W-what do I do? Should I do anything? Why? Ahh, I'm so confused!'
"Not to break up this moment, but I am still here." The sarcastic monotone voice made them jump apart,
"A-ah, E-Eiji, this is Shinso! H-he found me up here a-and helped me."
Kirishima smiled at the purple haired boy, holding out his hand as the other rubbed the back of his head,
"Nice to meet you broski! My names Kirishima Eijirou and I think you are so manly! Thank you for helping Izubro!"
Hitoshi blinked, overwhelmed with the 'bros' and overexcited energy pouring off of the boy.
"Uhh, yeah, no problem."
He flashed Izuku a look that screamed for help, so the greenette swooped in to save his antisocial saviour.
"We s-should be getting back, e-everyone is probably worried, r-right?"
Kirishima nodded, chattering non-stop as he pulled both of the boys back down the stairs. That's when it hit Izuku,
'Oh no, I'm going to have to face Aizawa, Kaachan and Shoto! This is so bad, they're going to be so angry with me! Wait, did the class see my breakdown too? We were on the monitors! Is it too late to go back?'
He kept his gaze on the floor as he was pulled down corridors, heart pounding in his ears.
'What do I do? What do I do? Ahh, I'm so scared!' He was pulled out of his panicked thoughts when a hand landed on his shoulder, vision coming into focus to see Aizawa crouched in front of him with a face full of concern.
He broke.
Sobbing he threw himself to the floor and hugged his teachers waist,
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I d-didn't want.... I'm sorry, d-don't be a-angry p-please!" A soothing hand carded through his hair.
"It's fine, breathe." His voice changed from comforting to stern, his eyes burning into the two students, "What happened?"
Shinso gulped, stepping forwards nervously,
"I was walking when I spotted blood on the floor so I followed it to the roof. Izuku was there," he hesitated, fiddling with his hands,
"He, he was going to commit suicide." Shouta's eyes widened, prompting the other to continue, "Uh, I started talking to him when this different voice answered one of my questions, so I used my quirk to get it to go away." He gulped anxiously, "At one point he seemed stuck in his head so I took the blade, that's when he arrived."
He tilted his head towards the redhead as he stepped back. Eijirou nodded, leaning his forearm against Shinso, ignoring how he tensed,
"Yeah, I ran up there and thanked him before bringing them to you."
Shouta nodded, taking in all of the information just unloaded onto him.
'Oh, problem child what am I going to do with you? It was lucky that Shinso found you.' He eyed the brainwashing boy, 'It's a shame he gets underestimated, he can, and has, done a lot of good with his quirk.'
An idea crawled into his head and, after putting it away to look at later, he stood, pulling Izuku with him.
"C'mon problem child, back to the dorms where no doubt your boyfriends will be waiting for you."
A much calmer greenette nodded, wiping his eyes with a dull chuckle,
"Can't avoid it can I?"
"Hmm, no."
