Ever since, most of the kids dreamed to become a doctor someday. Typical ambition of every child. A doctor that will cure those who are sick and in need. A kid’s usual reasoning for that matter. It is a cliché scenario but that’s the truth, doctors are the one who give medication and assistance to those in pain.
A doctor can heal someone’s wound but cannot mend his/her broken heart. Ironic but it is the reality.
Bata pa lamang alam na ni Vea kung ano ang gusto niyang maging at iyon ay ang pagiging isang doktor. Alam niya din na humahanga siya sa kababata. Maliit pa siya ay kasama na niya ito sa paglalaro. Marahil isa sa dahilan ay magbestfriend ang kanilang mga ina. Gayunpaman, nagkasundo pa rin silang dalawa at naging magkaibigan.
They were happy together but it ended up when her childhood friend’s family migrated abroad. It was a bad news for her. She became sad and was left alone playing in her tree house. Lumipas ang mga araw, buwan at taon na nasanay na siyang wala ito sa paligid. It went for almost a decade until one evening changed everything.
Nasa point na siya nang paglimot dito dahil matagal na panahon na ang nagdaan pero hindi iyon natuloy, hindi niya nagawa. It’s like the stars above won’t allow it to happen. They meet again, this time they’re both grown-ups. Wala na iyong bakas ng pagkabata nila at siguro maging ang closeness nila sa isa’t isa.
Nang gabing iyon bumilis bigla ang tibok ng kanyang puso. Nakatulala siyang nakatitig rito habang kausap ito ng mommy niya. Seems like she experience firsthand the thing called “Slow mo” at that very moment. Yung tipong tumigil bigla ang kanyang mundo dahil sa muli nilang pagkikita. Ganun na ganun ang nangyari.
From then, she knew that her simple admiration towards him before didn’t vanish but it grew into something deeper she is afraid to decipher.
Is there a possibility that her childhood friend share the same feeling with her? Or the guy has much more interest to her?
