the weighted blanket
of the night will lift slowly
to fade into day...
a curtain opens
a switch flicked a sole spotlight
brightens the bare stage...
black ink covers hands
with smudged graphite smearing
crisp paper all from one
slender quill dissolves
to the ether from a quick
splash of tap water...
can i bleed out the
darkness and fill my gushing
veins with a new light
