UNCERTAINTY OF SURVIVAL

He's a Marine and I'm a Doctor. He's 30 and I'm 27. 3 years gap. He's always underwater. While I'm always at the hospital. We only have less time for the both of us. We rarely see each other but we still keep our relationship going.

"Hon. I miss you! Come home na." I send him a message knowing he won't see it because there's no reception where he is.

"Doctor Villaflor someone's looking for you. He's at the garden." I nod and looked at my wristwatch.

"It's already 9:57 pm. Who will visit me here?" Since curiosity kills a cat I went to see who is it.

"Hon!" I said in excitement and run towards him. I jump to hug him so he catches me.

"I missed you so much!" I cried. 2 months without him is sad. I felt so alone in our house so I don't go home. I sleep here at the hospital.

"I missed you to Hon! I have a week off. Wanna do something?" He asked that made me happy.

"I'll ask for a day of first. Maybe 3-4 days. Is it okay to you? I can't have a week leave." He nod and accompany me inside the hospital.

I immediately went to my boss and asked for a leave. He was about to say no but I begged him.

"3 days leave only Doctor Villaflor. You know that our hospital needs a doctor always." I nod and thanked him before leaving.

I pack some of my hygiene before going to Landon's car.

"I got 3 days leave. So let's think what will do tomorrow. I'm tired Hon." I said.

"Sure Hon. Sleep. I'll just wake you up when we're home." I nod.

"Wake up Hon! It's already 9 AM. Let's not waste a time on sleeping! We only have 3 days together." Landon keep on shaking my body so I sat down and cupped his face.

"Alright hon. I'm already awake. Let me just wash up okay?" I asked. He nod and went down to prepare breakfast.

I did my morning routine and went down to eat. He prepared a bacon, egg, hotdog and fried rice. With coffee.

"Aw. Thank you hon." He smiled and served my food.

"So where do you wanna go?" He asked.

"Uhm since we only have 3 days including today, lets go to EK this day then tomorrow lets go to baguio. Is it okay?"

"Yes. Whatever you want Hon. I love you." He said.

"I love you too." I answered.

We was about to go to EK when I saw that they'll held a grand fireworks at midnight so we decides to go to Isla Verde in batangas. Good thing it was only an hour and half travel to get there.

"Hon! Take a picture of me. The beach looks good." I said and gave her my camera. He put down our bag and took a photo. I also did the same to him.

We booked a cottage and bought some food. We also reserved some underwater activities.

3 days went fast. We're already going home from our trip to baguio. It was nice there. The people are so nice. We went to Mines view, The mansion, botanical garden, we saw white house, we went to diplomat hotel, at sm, in session road, we also did horse back ridding and went to Riverview to swim. We did a lot of things when we were at baguio.

"Do you want to take a drive thru?" Landon asked while driving.

"Yes please. I'm kinda hungry." He turned left to go to jollibee's drive thru when a car bumped into us.

"Kayla!" He shouted and hugged me to protect me.

The car stopped spinning. I tried to move my body but Landon's still hugging me.

"Hon. Hon wake up." I tried to move him but he's to heavy.

A police officer went to our car. They forcefully opened the door and got Landon out of me. The nurse also supported me from walking until they lend me a wheelchair.

"Is Landon okay?" I asked

"He will Ma'am, don't worry." The nurse said to make me feel better.

"I'm a doctor. I want to see him." I said.

"You have an injury ma'am. You'll see him later at the hospital. For now we need to take you to the hospital to treat your injuries." I just nod and didn't forced myself.

After an hour they allowed me to see Landon's condition. I saw his head wrapped in bandages. His arms are wrapped in bandages also.

"Unfortunately he had a head injury. We also need to do an operation on the patient." I raised my eyebrows and looked at the doctor.

"Why?" I asked.

"He has a heart disease. He need to take an operation immediately before its to late." I covered my mouth and didn't know what to say.

"But I'm his doctor. He never said anything about his sickness." I tried not to cry.

"When's the operation?" I asked

"As soon as he wakes up. But we only have 30% of chance that he'll wake up because of the impact the accident cause." He said honestly.

"Oh my god." They didn't say a word and left.

I was left alone with Landon.

"Wake up Hon. Don't give me the uncertainty of survival. I know you will survive. You will survive. I'm your doctor." I talked to him.

"Why didn't you tell me? Why did you kept it yourself? I hate you. But you still need to wake up so we can operate you. We still need to get married right?" I said holding his hand.

"Wake up Landon huh? Don't leave me." I told him before I lost my consciousness.

"Miss. Miss wake up." The nurse shaked my shoulder.

"Hmm." I scratched my eyes and yawn. I look at the bed and saw Landon's not there.

I panicked. The nurse immediately noticed it.

"He's already at the operating room. Doctor Sulvarez asked if you want to join the operation." I nod, so she lead the way.

"Good that you're awake Dra. Villaflor. We can now start the operation." Doctor Sulvarez said when I entered the room fixing my gloves.

The operation went successfully and I felt relieved. We just have to wait till he wakes up.

"That's the love story of your lolo and I." I finished telling our story. I don't want to let them know the ending.

"But where is lolo now?" Ash asked.

"He's... He's now in paradise. Oh siya tinatawag na kayo ng mga magulang niyo. Umuwi na kayo." I smiled.

Tumango sila at nag si uwi.

Landon gave me the uncertainty of survival and when I thought he survived but he suddenly had a seizure that lead him to death.

He didn't survive. He left me. They left me. I got so depressed in a way I lost my baby the day I found out I was pregnant.

I lost both of my love.
