Y/N's POV

With Zoe there, the rest of the wake was manageable. You guys cried a little together, and went home together in her car.  And a few days after Connors wake, Evan finally made his way over to your house. You and Zoe went down stairs, and saw him. Evan Hansen. You both had decided not to believe him, because he was obviously trying to pull a lot of crap. However, Zoe was glaring at him harshly, while you just eyed  him suspiciously, like you eye everyone at school.

"Would anyone like more chicken?" Your father asks. It didn't take too long after Evan arrived for dinner to be ready, and the five of you hand to sit at the table and eat.

"I think you're the only one with an appetite, Larry." Your mother says.

"Hey, it was very considerate of the Harrises to bring this over and I dont want it to go to waste!" He defended. You rolled your eyes as your mom asked Evan about the Harrises.

"Did Connor tell you about the Harrises?" She asks him.

"Mmm." He responds.

"Thats not a real word." You thought.

"We used to go skiing with them. It was really fun." Your mother says.

"Connor loved skiing." Evan says.

"Connor hated skiing." Zoe contradicts. Evan's face displays panic as he glances over at you. "She's right." You add.

"Ah, yeah. What I meant was that Connor... loved... talking about how much he hated skiing." Evan responds. But Zoe isn't satisfied. And neither were you.

"So did you guys hang out a lot? You and Connor?" You ask.

He nods.

"Where?" Zoe asks, clearly wanting more detail.

"You mean where we hung out?"

"Yes, where?"

"I too am curious." You added.

"Well," He fake coughed. "We hung out mostly at my place. And here, if nobody was home." He thought.

"Emails!" He said suddenly.

 "What?" You asked.

"Oh, uh, we e-mailed a lot, too. Sometimes he didn't want to hang out in person, w-which I understood, since I was the same way, but uh, yeah. We emailed a lot." Zoe rolled her eyes.

"We checked his e-mails. There weren't any from you." She hissed. Evan panics again.

"Ah, he used a secret account. He thought it would be more private." Evan responded. "Sorry, I guess I should've said that earlier." He said. You smirked.

"Oh, like one of those secret accounts where you send pictures of your pe-"

"Ahem." Your mother fake coughed, interrupting you. "See, Larry. He knew you read his emails." She said.

"And I don't regret it. Somebody had to be the bad guy." He said. You rolled your eyes.

"Its just so weird. The only time I ever saw him interact with you was when he pushed you." Zoe said.

"Connor pushed you?" Your mother asked, curiously.

"Oh, I wouldn't say 'push', Mrs. Murphy. It was more like,  tripped." Evan said.

"Please, call me Cynthia." Your mother responded.

"No, I was there. He definitely pushed you. Hard." Zoe said.
