So you were never a saint.
And I loved in shades of wrong.- State of grace, Taylor Swift
It was raining. No. It was pouring, and Maddison had already waited an hour for the sky to clear. She was pretty sure that now the sun won't be out till tomorrow morning.
This was just a perfect ending to a perfect day. She thought sarcastically.
She had failed her biology test. The first test she ever failed in her life. Then couldn't focus on the math class, which was right after biology. Hence was now behind in math too. Olivia and Luke were acting funny, and just like always, Kristen was not failing in her sworn task of irritating Maddy.
After a long contemplation she decided to just run home. Her plan was perfect, she won't get too wet and her house was fairly close to school. It only had one problem. Maddison did not run. She could speed walk, but that was all. She was sure she would tire herself even before turning around the block.
Nevertheless after a deep breath she walked out of the school building and ran into the parking lot. Just a few seconds into the lot, she fell flat on her ass. She was wearing light blue jeans, which were, well now ruined.
Now she felt like crying. She couldn't believe that this really was happening to her. She started blaming herself for thinking "this couldn't get any worse" when she saw the F on her answer sheet.
She got up and out of frustration started stomping on the ground. "This is what you wanted, right? Well, guess what? I am made of stone. I don't break easily." She screamed in frustration.
"I may be wrong, but I dont think that's gonna affect the ground much. I mean, stomping and screaming may work any other time, but not here I guess". A velvety deep voice said in a british accent. She turned around to look into a pair of twinkling ocean blue eyes.
The guy smiled knowingly at her and removed his jacket and gave it to her. She felt confused. "I don't want it."she said.
"But your jeans might" the guy smiled mischievously at her.
Shit! She almost forgot about that. She blushed and took the jacket and tied it around her waist. Slowly, she mumbled a thanks and turned around to start walking again. The rain had almost stopped now.
"The name's Noah." The deep voice said from behind her. She did not stop, however she had a wide smile on her face.
Finally something good.

She shot up with a gasp. She couldn't breathe, and wasn't sure if it was because of the dream or something else. She dreamed once again of a car hitting her. Blinding headlights in her eyes, tires screeching and then her blood red remains on the road.
She turned towards the clock. It read 2:59 am. She went to the bathroom and splashed cold water on her face. She then turned the lights off and walked into her room. She decided to sit in the balcony for a while before going back to bed.
She suddenly remembered the promise she made to a particular bottle and changed her path. She noisily walked downstairs. Even though she didn't believe in ghosts, she still wanted to send a clear message- I am alive and you're not.
She went straight to the bar and picked up the crystal bottle along with a tumbler. She sat down on the white sofa and filled the glass to the brim. She then let a small amount of saliva build in her mouth before taking the first sip.
Salt-caramel with a hint of the sea, flowery notes, earthly moss and peppery taste filled her mouth.
When she was done with the glass she went into the kitchen for some ice. This time she filled half the tumbler .
