And I'm holding on for dear life, won't look down won't open my eyes.
Keep my glass full until morning light, 'cause I'm just holding on for tonight.
Help me, I'm holding on for dear life, won't look down won't open my eyes.
Keep my glass full until morning light, 'cause I'm just holding on for tonight.- Chandelier, Sia.
It was extremely loud in there.
She wiped the sweat off her forehead, using the sleeve of her bright red skin tight dress. It was eminently hot in there.
Her feet were in harsh pain, courtesy to the golden high heels they were squeezed in.
The air was as intoxicated as the teens breathing it. There were drunken bodies stumbling everywhere around the mansion.
The loudspeakers were booming some r & b songs she couldn't recognize. The neon lights in the house were flickering constantly. It was so dark, that apart from the person in the immediate front, she couldn't really make anyone out.
'Good' was her premier thought.
She was really here in this god awful place for only two reasons : popularity and to forget.
The first one she already accomplished when the night was young, and everyone had a good view of her making out with Steve Mitchell.
The Steve Mitchell.
The host of this exceptional party.
His parties were always the talk of the school. Exclusive invites were sent for his parties. No uninvited guests were welcome, and she had fortunately gotten herself an invite.
He was a senior, and the star baseball player, and he was the one that extended her the invite to the party. If she valued her still climbing reputation, that she definitely did, she really did not have the option of refusing.
Not that she wanted to.
As soon as he had gotten drunk enough to forget his own name, Olivia left him to his own devices.
Now, she was looking to fulfill her second purpose of the night.
Different bodies were rubbing against each other, grinding and jumping. The air was so ridden with adrenaline, that she could feel it rotting in her stomach. Her heart was racing, beating erratically against the box it was caged in.
Her ears were ringing.
This party was a direct short cut to the top.
And she desperately needed that.
Especially when she was sprinting up the social ladder, without even trying.
Just thinking about it made Olvia's fists clench. She gritted her teeth.
She had to work her ass of to get to where she was right now- The most popular sophomore. She never ate anything that wasn't green, or freakishly nutritious. She never had seconds on her plate- always ate whatever portion her mother served her- which was exceedingly minute.
She perpetually made sure her hair and makeup were perfect, her clothes were flawlessly ironed- heck, even her shoes were spotless.
She consistently wore heels, even if she had to massage her feet every night, due to the blisters.
But she did not have to do all this. She would eat whatever the fuck she wants, and never gain a lick of a pound. She would wear whatever she found comfortable and just roll with it, and everyone would regard it as a trend- effortlessly fashionable.
