If this is to end in fire,
Then we should all burn together.
Watch the flames climb high into the night.

- I see fire, Ed Sheeran.

"I feel like I am on top of the world. This is so surreal." Luke marvelled, gaping at their enticing surroundings.

"Not the world, dumbass. We're on top of Europe." Maddy happily corrected him.

He shot her a glare and muttered "I meant it as a metaphor."

"Yeah, whatever" Maddy teased.

They were currently on Jungfraujoch, posing near the red cross. There was misty fog and dazzling snow all around them. The height of the point they were standing on, was utterly astounding.

It was about 11,360 feet above the sea level.

Even though they hadn't done anything  physically stimulating, Maddy still felt as if she accomplished a huge adventure.

The view was splendidly rewarding.

The sun was blinding in their eyes and the cold fog nipping in their lungs. The wind was rushing their ears. Maddy's teeth were chattering, and her fingertips were numb. She suddenly had a strong urge to steal Luke's gloves.

But, this was all worth it.

The view was worth it.

Around them, there were yellow rods, with double ropes passing through them, providing as fence, and also a guidance system.

They had already visited the ice cave, thankfully Maddy wore appropriate shoes this time, where the glass structure that spelled 'Top of Europe' was.

Maddy was mildly amused by the writing on some of the barrels of whisky that were on display in the cave, while Noah had just angrily yelled "where's the whisky?"

"Oo, Isn't that the squirrel with the acorn from ice age?" Luke had noticed when he saw the display in the ice cave.

"It was a squirrel? I thought it was a small beaver!" Olivia sheepishly admitted.

"Don't insult Scrat!" Gasped Noah, slightly offended on the said squirrel's behalf.

The chilly air was exhilarating, and Luke was actually right. In that moment, they all felt like they were on top of the world.

As if now, all the problems in the world were utterly small.

Everything seemed so simple from above here.

It was uniquely inspiring.

The icy wind was blowing in their hair, pushing the strands back. And pearly white snow covered the radiant mountains that surrounded them.

Maddison could make out various stop signals near the fence. The fence she was petrified to get too close to. It did not appear anywhere near as safe as the one fixed in Titlis.

"Stop throwing snowballs at me. Olive, you're gonna sit with me on the train ride back, and believe me I'll kick you off." Luke demanded, trying to shake Olivia and Noah off his tail.

That did not deter them in the least, and pretty soon a full blown snow fight was in motion.

Maddy glanced at them, Noah and Olivia were laughing uncontrollably, tears collecting at the corner of their eyes. Luke was scurrying like a chicken.

The scene brought a smile to her face and warmth to her chest.

She wished she could stay in this moment forever.
