Third Person's pov

🌹🌹🌹

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Taeyong clutched his sword and clenched his jaw as soon as he heard the familiar gallop of Jisung's horse. 'They're here already?' He hissed and waited for the horse to reach him. Taeyong allowed the horse to run past him before he quickly grabbed its leash and pulled himself up. He gripped the rope and used his right hand to hold his sword as the horse continued to run towards their base camp.

"GALLOP OF SANDS, READY THE ARMY!!"

As soon as he finished, he pulled the leash and made his back as stiff as he could. Without at least three seconds, Ten came with two other warriors behind him.

"Jisung's horse... they must've prepared an obvious attack considering the time," Ten mumbled with contemplation on his voice. The two warriors stood firmly and didn't even bat an eye when Ten looked back at them. "Prepare the division. Enhance the veil throughout the whole continent. Vortex 1 will be responsible for the protection of the veil team. In contrast, Vortex 2 stays in the rear position. 4 and 5 will come with Taeyong and me."

Though the two warriors didn't want to talk further and waste any remaining time, one of them, the leader of Vortex 1, asked Ten. "Sir, I thought our post is on the east? Vortex 4 was supposed to be the protection of the veil team. That was what we discussed in the tactical meeting, wasn't it?"

"A simple change of plans is not enough reason for warriors like you to fail. Leaders of every grove, such as both of you, are chosen to stand while the higher-ups are not present. Keep the soldiers intact. If one fails, everything will fall down."

"But sir..." The leader of Vortex 1 trailed off with hesitance.

Ten remained strict and stone-faced. "Remember, you are not students anymore. You are soldiers of Jastebure. Now, do as I say."

As the two councils watched the soldiers run to their given destinations, they couldn't help but feel so useless. As soon as they became members of the board, all they did in their whole lives was to protect and teach them.

But there's nothing anyone can do. After all, the academy was made only for this reason. To protect Jastebure at all cost. No matter the situation, even if they look like they were going to lose or win, every student was taught to stay and fight.

Though the higher-ups understood that some can be cowards and weak, they still didn't bother placing two sentences as the school's motto.

'Cowards shall fall, and quitters shall run. Never step inside unless you're willing to fight.'

"Don't you think something isn't right?"

"I do," Taeyong answered so fast that Ten unconsciously looked at him in curiosity. "I have never heard Musphanians attacking with such cleverness, but with Eunbi knowing everything about the academy, she must've prepared something."

"Cleverness, I see. What do you think is it?"

"I don't know, but what I do know is that they're coming in less than thirty seconds." Ten heightened his senses. The moment his eyes landed on thousands of armies running towards their direction, both of his eyes turned blue-green.

"Well, less than fifteen seconds now," He sighed and gripped his bow. "Yong, just in case I disappear, I want you to know your ramen always tasted great."

Taeyong looked at him in confusion. "Wha- What's with the sudden-??"

"You've been frowning ever since our pupil went away. I want you to smile after I shock these little minions out."
