Perrie's POV
I walked in the door to our apartment, tired and stressed. I flung my work bag in the corner by the door, not even bothering to put things away. My first day was exhausting.
It was spent running back and forth, being trained by this person and that person, and trying to do the job of three other people who all called in today. I didn't even know my job yet and they had me doing everyone else's.
All I wanted was my bed. I desperately needed a nap. Maybe then I'd feel better. I sighed heavily and when I went to walk toward the bedroom. I nearly had a heart attack.
I didn't even realize that Jade was sitting on the couch, with her wild and curly hair and those adorable glasses, tapping away on her laptop.
"That bad huh?" She asked, looking up over her glasses.
"The worst." I sighed again. I was so tired I could cry.
"Awww come here, baby." She closed her laptop and reached her arms out for me.
"I don't want to interrupt what you're doing, babe." I replied.
"It's just a quiz for my class, but I can finish it later. Nothing I'm doing is more important than you. Now come here please." She said, wiggling her fingers.
I dragged my feet, which felt like I'd had LEGOs in my shoes all day, over to her and plopped down next to her. It felt so good to just be sitting.
"What can I do to fix it? What do you need?" She asked, looking at me over her glasses.
She was so cute, but I could hardly focus on her because I couldn't see through the pain.
"I don't know. Everything hurts and I'm sleepy." I whined.
"Awww, baby, I'm sorry. What's hurting the most? Let's start there." She said.
"My feet are on fire, and I have a headache! They worked me too hard, J'adore!" For some reason I suddenly turned into a whiny baby when I was talking to her.
"Let me see." She pointed to my feet and I swung my legs over to her. She slipped off my shoes and began massaging my feet and god did it feel good. "Talk to me, love. Tell me what they did."
I sighed and let it all spill from my mouth. I ran down everything that happened from the beginning of my day until the end, and she just continued to massage my feet and listen to me whine and complain.
"I'm sorry, baby. I know I didn't help the situation either because of the other night." She frowned and looked genuinely sorry.
"Baby, please. It wasn't your fault. It was that stupid hospital." I rolled my eyes.
She let out a small laugh. "Bad job or just a bad day?"
"I'll have to answer that tomorrow." I sighed. "Today seemed extra shitty. Hopefully it was just because everyone called out."
"Okay. Give it another try tomorrow, and if it's still this bad, leave. I don't need to remind you exactly what you said to me, but you don't have to stay anywhere you don't want to be, baby girl." She moved her hands up and started to massage my calves.
I nodded, feeling more relaxed already. "I know."
She got up for a second and walked into the kitchen, then came back out with a bottle of water and a bottle of pills.
She sat back down and pulled me towards her. "This is for your head. Open your mouth." I did as she said and she dropped two pills in my mouth. She opened the water bottle and held it to my mouth for me to sip. Literally treating me like a baby. "How much water have you had today?"
