⚠️ 👁👄👁
Perrie's POV
"Is this gonna hurt?" Jade asked me, as she chewed at her nails and bounced her knee up and down.
I quickly glanced from the road to her. She was a nervous wreck.
"Get your fingers out of your mouth." I said, swatting at her hand and putting my hand on her knee to calm her. "Relax, babe. Everything is going to be fine."
"Is it gonna hurt, baby?" She asked again. I could feel her looking at me.
"I doubt it." I replied, trying to focus on getting us to the doctors office before she had an anxiety attack or something.
We'd finally finished all of her injections and today was the day we were scheduled for the egg retrieval. Which was basically the doctor suctioning all of the eggs from Jade's ovaries with a needle. Okay, maybe she had a right to be scared. That sounded awful.
"You doubt it? Meaning you don't even know?!" She yelled. "Wait. Can we go home? I'm not ready yet!"
"Babe! Snap out of it! You're ready. You've literally HAD a baby before. This can't be that bad." I replied.
"You're right. I can do this. I can do anything." She sat back and started to take deep breaths.
"That's right." I replied, breathing with her. "Good girl."
I smirked when I felt her glaring at me. "Don't good girl me." She folded her arms.
"Why not? You're being a good girl." I smiled and I could almost hear her rolling her eyes. I knew her too well. "On the bright side, your part is over after this."
"I know what you were intending to say with that, but my part in this will never be over. We're in this together." She said.
"You're so sweet." I smiled.
"We're all in this together!" She started to sing loudly.
"No!" I yelled.
"Once we know that we are, we're all stars!" She continued.
"Jade, stop it!" I yelled again. That song was like nails on a chalkboard to me.
"And we see that!"
"I will drive this car right to the court house and divorce you!" I threatened.
"We're all in this together..." She whispered, sinking down in her seat.
"Jade!"
"Alright, jeez. What do you have against Troy Bolton?" She scoffed.
"His haircut, for one." I rolled my eyes.
"He was pretty cringe, looking back." She said and we both laughed.
"Okay. Tell me what's about to happen again." She said, as if she were writing out a game plan in her head.
Both I and our doctor had explained it to her several times, but she just never pays attention. She's so lucky I love her.
I walked her through it, AGAIN, and explained to her that she would be sedated so she most likely wouldn't even feel anything, which seemed to ease her mind.
We made it to the doctors office, and she was the first to hop out. She ran around the car and hugged me as soon as I got out, and kissed me quickly, setting my heart on fire. She gave the best hugs. Especially when I wasn't expecting them.
"Pez, do you realize I'm full of eggs right now?!" She tugged my arm as we walked across the parking lot. "I'm like a chicken!"
"What?" I stopped and turned to look at her, stifling a laugh.
