21.

My eyes grow  wide with anticipation , I can feel the hair at the nape of my neck stand straight .
My heart freezes and beats over and over again , I'm running out of breath despite the increased intake of breath . My palms have gotten sweaty and the air feels heavy ,still, unmoving,  Pin drop silence as everyone holds  on for dear life .
How did I get myself into this ?
I want to close my eyes but I can't look away , I raise my brows further  at the display before me .
How could she be so stupid ? All the signs pointed to danger but she was to stubborn  , to blind ,to foolish to listen .
I hold my breath and wrap my hand tighter around his arm , my nails digging into his bare skin .
It's only a matter of time , seconds to be precise before it's over for her.

"Aaaggh!" She screams loudly ,the noise piercing through the heavy atmosphere .

Her blood is everywhere , she tries reaching out , escaping but it's obvious clearly even to her that  she won't survive this .
Still she scrapes her way over , digging and crawling towards us , towards me !
Right when I think she's going to make it , my hopes are destroyed when  the  axe cuts right through her through like a knife through butter .
He leaves dragging his bloody axe behind him as it makes an irritating  screech sound . She's now helpless , drained of all her blood , her eyes that once had life and colour now are pale and undoubtedly lifeless.

"I can't do this !" I say aloud and take off my glasses .

Lee stares at me questioningly .
"I thought you said you liked this kind of thing ."

My eyes shot wide at him.  I  lied I am absolutely terrified , I only said I was interested in this because he is . Why would I think I would be capable of getting through this ?

"I lied I'm scared , I want to leave ." He stares at me for a moment but eventually agrees to take me home .

"I kind of figured that out five minutes into the movie when you grabbed my arm and wouldn't let go despite me pleading for you to stop hurting me ." He smirks .

" I'm sorry , I've watch horror movies before but not like this . "

I have always fancied myself to be brave when it comes to watching horror movies but I have never really watched one that said the dreaded words based on a true story .
That was ... different .I can't believe there used be a man who mercilessly slaughtered innocent women  like that .

"Hey don't be afraid ,the guys dead now ." Lee makes a weak attempt at calming me down .

"What about the rest of his family ?" I ask hoping for a similar outcome as evil as it may sound .

"Oh they died a long time ago like five or six years ago ."

I let out a heavy breath of relief.

"You know I heard his son from the second wife is still alive and ... he's the one who was trained to kill!" Lee says and suddenly pokes my waist making me shriek .

"Lee!" I yell as I watch him double over in laughter .
I can't believe he thinks this is funny .

"I'm kidding I'm kidding ." I sigh and roll my eyes .

"Or am I ?" I glare at him .

"Yes I am, come on don't be such a scaredy cat ." He chuckles as we walk over to his car .

"Winner!" The booth runner say's in a very uninterested tone . He's quite the movie cliché , you know , dirty looking  faded denim hat to match a  pair of faded  jeans and a white  turned mysteriously  cream , long sleeved shirt . A toothpick sticking out at the side of his mouth , looks like he doesn't know what sleep is and overall just hates everyone and everything .
