"Slow down !" I yell as I almost trip  over a rock on the sidewalk.

"Come on we only have two hours before they close ."

"Where are we  going ?" I ask for the eighth time .

"Funscape." He says not facing me .

We walk and skip and and run until the  very bright luminous sign comes into view .
I can't tell what Lee is up to , I mean is this like a date or some thing ? I can't ask him obviously because he might ignore me again  so I'm just going to play along .

" Come on ." He says leading the way to a bunch of games .
There's small crowds of people everywhere , a bunch of ice-cream and cotton candy carts .
Children running everywhere , lights from the multiple games glowing and flashing causing my eyes to itch all over again .

"Quinn , just take out those contacts ." Lee notices my twitching eye.
"Wh...what do you mean? I'm totally fine " I try to keep my eyes open .
"Quinn, really ? You're not a good liar , let me help ." He reaches out to my eye and I move back.

"Don't be such a coward, I promise I won't hurt you ."

"Okay ."

Once he takes it out I can't help sigh in relief . My eyes are way better off without them .

"See , doesn't that feel much better ?" He asks  handing me the contacts .
I throw them away  since I don't have their casing also I'm pretty sure I'm never using them again .

"Thanks ."

"Sure thing , just be careful with your eyes next time , you could get an infection if you mess around with those things ."

We've played tons of games and Lee's won every single one . My favourite one was skating , I kept tripping and falling and Lee kept helping me up but then I'd fall again and he'd help me up and then he'd fall and this kept going on to  the point where we stopped trying and just sat there laughing .

The final destination is the Ferris wheel , we have about thirty minutes left before they close so we hurry over and get on .
As we sit  there in our tiny booth I realise there isn't much space between me and Lee . I can feel the warmth radiating from his body accompanied by  his lemony smell , it's taking every  brain cell and all the will power I have  in my body not to just get closer and  cuddle up to him .

I can only take so much of this it's like being a little piece on metal next to a giant magnet .
I decide to move a little further away to my corner .
Before I do I feel him getting closer and before I can turn my head I feel his head on my shoulder . Did he just ... I can feel his warm breath fanning my neck .  I can feel all the hair on my back  stand stiff on my skin goosebumps develop on my forearms .
I feel paralyzed like I can't do anything , what should I do ? My heart is beating a little to fast and so loud I can hear it through my ears . I can't form coherent thoughts , meanwhile he looks so peaceful and calm .
If he asks me a question I don't think I'd be able to answer , I don't think I can even remember my name right now .

I cross my fingers hoping he doesn't say a word .
Luckily he doesn't so we just quietly sit there enjoying the view as the ride slowly tales us up and down.

As I get home and plop myself onto my bed feeling all of  my tired bones give out I hear my phone bing ,I grab it and see that it's from Lee .

Lee: hey , thanks for today I had fun.❤️

Wait a minute , did he , is that ..a heart emoji ? A red heart emoji !

Be cool , don't freak out , it's just a text .

Quinn: I had fun too.🙂

Lee: goodnight .😴

Quinn: goodnight 🥱
