Mullaikaaga Kathirin Thedal

~ Imperfectly Perfect ~

Everyone finally got back to the real life scenario after all the celebrations. Works were dumped on for a long time and Pandian stores needed the brothers extra hours to make up for the excessive rest from the shop they took. Two weeks have passed since that special day in Mullai's house. Mullai and Kathir kept it as real as possible because as Kathir pointed out, things between them cannot change in a day. Kathir had added an extra head nod and smile whenever she entered and left the shop and Mullai cooked his favourite dishes whenever she could, in a quantity for everyone in the shop though. They had exchanged their phone numbers but haven't spoken on the phone till now.

Kanna's frequency of visits increased in these two weeks and Mullai was kind of getting used to the shop and her naughty, funny side showed whenever she was with Kanna and Saravanan. Kathir always loved watching her from a distance while she was explaining something animatedly to both of them. The accounts of the shop were hard to maintain and Mullai was really doing a good job for a beginner.

A day back Kathir had informed Mullai that he has to leave for Madurai and settle the balance of a dealer they are having some trouble with. He knew the dealer was waiting to create a scene, as they had decided to drop him from their business because of some issue. He had asked her to be very careful with the details. That same day, Kanna had regarded her to teach her some subject since he had an exam on the next day. She was kind of handling both and successfully finished the job Kathir entrusted on her in time. Unfortunately, she missed on a bill which got mixed with Kanna's notes. It was a huge amount and for sure will cause a lot of trouble for them.

Mullai was unaware of this and Kathir had left for Madurai. Kanna came to the shop after his exams and was a little bit confident that he would pass it somehow. While they were talking of how difficult passing that particular subject was, Kanna suddenly remembered the bill he found in his notes the very morning.

Kanna: Mullai Akka... cha... paarunga akka nu koopte palakam aagi appidiye varuthu... While Mullai was anticipating the worst and held the phone near her ears waiting for him to pick up the call, he stormed into the room and threw his ringing mobile which missed Kanna in millimetres. Mullai was shocked and immediately stood up from the chair. His face looked like he was painted red. He was so angry that he hit the nearby table with such force and Mullai was scared like hell. One look at her face, he knew she was guilty. The calm tone he uses in extreme anger is deadly.

Kathir: Ey... nethu na unkitta enna sonna...

enna sonnanu ketten... He hit the table again and tears flowed from Mullai's eyes. She replied between sobbing.

Mullai: Enga... Sor...
