For the next two weeks, Sundays were meant to be happily spent in Mullai's house. Kathir had in the meantime even tried to help Murugan in issues related to the only farmland they possessed and some of his ideas were beginning to work too. They four had a great time every Sunday evening and Kathir-Mullai would return back home after dinner. This had begun to become a routine and Kathir had once even professed to the family how well he got along with all of them. He seemed to even forget their past totally when narrating things to their family about certain Sunday events in Mullai's house.

Mullai was the happiest among them all. She loved seeing her parents and her husband being their own selves but still having a great time together. She could even say that Kathir was beginning to yearn for the Sunday evening time there in her house, especially his time with her father. There was something about Murugan which made him a fatherly figure to Kathir. Likewise, on one Saturday evening, Kathir had made plans with Murugan to meet some people the next day regarding an extension for the farmland with some bargains. He had promised to accompany Murugan for the same. He then asked Mullai to request his athai to make his favourite soya biriyani for dinner.

Mullai was liking how he was letting down his guard and coming out of his shell slowly in regard with her family. The slow progress was what she loved the most. Her man was making her fall for him each day. Everybody has small drawbacks but the way they reconcile the issues show what kind of person they are. The real effort Kathir had put to make things beautiful with her family was all that she needed and now everything was turning out to be so effortless. She was expecting him in their room after informing her mother to cook her son-in-law's favourite dish tomorrow. But all her happiness vanished in a second when she saw a very broken confused Kathir entering their room with a visible frown in his face. He locked the door, turned off the light and laid down on his side of the bed.

Kathir: Nalaiku na unna mathiyam saaptutu unga amma veetla vitturen... enaku konjam avasarama velai vandhuruchu... ennala vara mudiyaathu... rathiri vela mudinju vandhu kooptukuren...

Mullai: Hmm... Seri nga... Yen athukulla paduthuteenga... nalla thaana irundheenga konja neram munna varaikum... yaaravathu ethavathu sonnangala... veetla ethavathu prechanaiya...

Kathir: Mulla... ethuku ippa ippadi kelvi mela kelvi kekura... sorva iruku... seekirama thoongalaam nu nenachen... athula enna iruku... ennaku rest kedaikurathe vaarathula oru naal thaan... athula kooda thoonga koodatha yenna...

Mullai: Aiyo na appidi sollala nga... seri thoongunga... aana edho seri illa nu enaku theriyum... solla venaam na paravala athuku yen sidu sidu nu pesureenga... Good night...

She turned to the other side facing the wall and she knew trying to talk to a moody Kathir was not going to work at all. He needs his alone time the most at those phases. He doesn't like anyone talking and asking him questions while he thinks over something serious. She knew something had happened in the family that was bothering him and he would never tell it to her if he feels it will affect her in some way or the other. As he had said, the next day had gone off by him dropping and picking her up. He had totally refused to even come in for a few minutes. Mullai thought that he really had some very important work until Kannan told her in their morning kitchen conversation the next day that Kathir was present at home the whole Sunday evening.
