Chapter 19

(Y/n)'s POV
When I woke up, I was in my room. I looked around the room and saw Maki by my bed and Himiko laying down on the couch. Himiko was sleeping and it looked like Maki was awake but just closing her eyes.

"What are you guys doing here?" I whispered so I didn't wake Himiko up. Maki opened her eyes. "You're finally awake. You've been out for most of the day. It's almost dinner time." She said.

"What was that earlier?" She asked. "Since we're twins, I feel pain he feels, but like a smaller amount of it. He's never been in that much pain so it drained my energy, I guess." She nodded.

"So they're really dead. Kokichi and Rantaro are both dead." I said. Maki looked sympathetic for a second but then it went away. 'She and Kokichi are similar in some ways. Like they never want anyone to know their true emotions.' I thought and smiled.

Maki got up from the chair she was sitting on and said "Can you walk?" I removed the blankets on me and tried standing. When I got up, I wobbled a bit but then got the hang of it. "Yup I can walk." I smiled at her.

"Oh. I almost forgot. This note was on your bed when we came in." Maki said and handed me a folded note. I took it and unfolded it.
      Please lead DICE for me.

Was all it said. I shed a few tears but remembered what Kokichi said. To keep smiling for him. I whipped my face and put on a smile. I folded the note and put it in my drawer.

I walked over to Himiko and gently shook her. "Hey Himiko. Wake up." I said. She opened her eyes and rubbed them. "Oh! You're awake (Y/n)!" Himiko exclaimed and hugged me. I hugged back. When we parted, she turned to Maki.

"Why didn't you wake me up when she woke up!" Himiko pouted. Maki slightly gave a smile and chuckled. "She just woke up." Maki said. Then she hid her smile. "Fine. I'll let you go this time." Then we walked out of the dorm and went to the dining hall.

On the way there, I asked Maki "Is everyone else going to be there?" "Mhm." Was all Maki said. We started walking to the dining hall.

What am I going to say to Shuichi? I punched him in the face. Do I apologize? No! He told Kokichi he was alone and always going to be. Do I ignore him? No. I'd feel kinda bad. What do I do?

Next thing I knew, we were all at the dining hall doors. Himiko opened the doors. "Nyeh. I'm hungry." Himiko said and went to the part of the table that had her food.

"(Y/n)! How are you?" Kaito said and walked over to me. Kiibo, Tsumugi, and Shuichi walked over to me too. "I'm feeling better." I smiled. "How do you still smile after what happened yesterday?" Shuichi asked.

I paused for a moment. I decided to just ignore what I did to him yesterday. Shuichi didn't seem to mind. "Well, Kokichi's goal in life was to make people happy. I want to keep smiling for him." I said and looked down.

"Oh, I see..." He responded. "Glad to see you're doing good!" Kaito smiled back. "(Y/n), both your brother and boyfriend dying on the same day can't be good for your metal health. Are you sure you're good?" Tsumugi spoke up, sounding concerned. I knew it was fake.

The rest of the students watched to see how I would react, after Kokichi's accusation of her being the mastermind. I opened my mouth to say something but Shuichi answered before I could. "She said she's good. Even if she's not, Me and Himiko will help her get through it, like Kokichi wanted." He said. "Mhm. What Shuichi said." I said.

"Let's go eat guys." I spoke up after a few moments of silence. Everyone murmured in agreement. I sat at the end and Himiko sat on the left of me, Kiibo sat next to her and Tsumugi sat next to him. Shuichi sat on my other side with Kaito next to him and Maki next to him.
