Chapter 22

(Y/n)'s POV
I walked to the dorms and saw that there was an arrow in the camera and the usual red, blinking light was off. Then I looked at the clock to see what time it was. 'I guess it's time for lunch. I'll go to the dining hall.' I thought. That talk with Tsumugi took longer than expected.

When I got to the dining hall, everyone, even Tsumugi was there. I started walking to Tsumugi.

Kaito gave me a weird look and Maki kicked his leg. "Ow!" Kaito grabbed his leg. "Stop." I heard her whisper. 'Shuichi must've told them already.' I thought.

"Hi (Y/n)!" Tsumugi greeted me when I sat next to her. "Hey, Tsumugi." I greeted her back. Then we all started eating.

It was silent the whole time, beside when Maki called Kaito an idiot for asking a stupid question.

I finished eating first so I put my plates away and excused myself. I started walking to the dorms again. Instead of going to my own room, I went to Shuichi's. We agreed to meet up so I can tell him what I learned, that's one of the reasons we had Maki get rid of the cameras.

I opened the door. He left it unlocked so we could meet in his room. I went in and sat in a chair. I looked around and saw the Outfit I made for him a while back, when everybody was still alive. 'Angie, Kaede, Ryoma, Kirumi, Tenko, Kiyo, Miu, Gonta, and... Rantaro and Kokichi...'

I realized I was crying as I felt tears sliding down my cheeks.

"(Y/n)....? Why are you crying?" I heard Shuichi's voice. "I just remembered everyone, including Rantaro and Kokichi." I replied and whipped the tears. "Oh..."

"Anyways, she isn't expecting there to be another death so she doesn't plan on giving another motive." I said. Shuichi tilted his head. "Why doesn't she think there will be another murder?" He asked.

"She only said that there isn't usually another one. But she expects you guys to challenge Monokuma to a trial where the cognitions are you have to reveal the mastermind and the schools mysteries. If you don't everyone dies." I told him.

Shuichi nodded. "We'll have to go along with her expectations for now. The others will make it obvious if I tell them so I won't. I saw how Kaito reacted when you sat next to Tsumugi this morning." He said. "Mhm."

"I think there's still more that she's not telling you so try to get it out of her." Shuichi said. "Yea I figured." I replied.

I walked to the door and left. When I left Shuichi's dorm, Tsumugi was there. "Why were you in Shuichi's room?" She asked. "Shuichi just wanted to make sure I was alright, you know, after Kokichi and Rantaro..." I trailed off. "Ok!" She smiled.

I started wandering around the school, thinking to myself. I was thinking of things to do. Then I came up with a plan. I'll do it tomorrow to give the others more time than they would if I did it today.

I went back to Tsumugi's lab, hoping she was there. I opened the door and saw she was making a drink for herself.

"Tsumugi." I said when I entered. She looked at me. "Hm?" Was all she said. "What's something to prove I'm the mastermind?" I asked. Tsumugi looked at me suspiciously.

"Why do you want to know?" She asked wearily. "It's going to cause the others so much despair if they find out that I'm the mastermind, don't you think? They won't want to believe it so they'll probably ask for proof or something." I lied.

She pulled out a remote. "You can use this. It controls the Exisals." She said. She tossed it over to me and I caught it.

While I was walking to the door, Tsumugi spoke. "If I find out that you betrayed me, you're not gonna like what happens." She said in a dark voice that made me a little scared to find out what exactly she meant. "Mhm." I replied and continued walking.

I had more time before it was dinner so I decided to hang out with Himiko. I thought that maybe she was in her ultimate lab so that's where I went.

I went into her lab and saw her practicing stacking cards, making a big tower of them. "Hey Himiko!" I said when I walked inside. "Hi, (Y/n)." She answered.

Before I said anything else, Himiko said "Why were you all buddy-buddy with Tsumugi earlier?" "Because she's my friend!" I answered. Of course, I don't actually think of Tsumugi as my friend. "But she's the mastermind!" Himiko protested. "...Wouldn't it be suspicious if everyone tried avoiding her?" I replied.

"Nyeh. Whatever." She gave up. Himiko continued stacking cards and I helped her. When we were done the tower, we practiced some magic tricks.

After a while, it was dinner time. Me and Himiko walked there together. We ate just like normal. I mean, obviously. That's what we were going there for. After dinner, everyone was hanging out together in the dining hall.

I got bored so I went to the kitchen, got a knife, and returned to my seat. "What are you doing with that knife?" I heard Maki ask. I looked up and saw everyone looking at me.

"I'm gonna play a game." I said. I put my hand on the table and spread out my fingers. "What game?" Kaito asked. I opened my mouth to answer but Shuichi spoke first.

"It's the knife game, right?" he said. "Yea, that's right." I replied. "The knife game? What's that?" Kiibo asked. "You have to stab the knife between your finger and try not to hit them." Shuichi explained.

"Isn't dangerous to play that though?" Tsumugi said. "Yea! You shouldn't do something so dangerous!" Kaito said. "I'll be fine. Look." I said and started stabbing the knife in between my fingers. I started kind of slow at first but gradually got faster.

"You should be careful." Himiko said. "Wow! You look so cool!" Kaito said in amazement. I was doing it fast but that got boring so I sped up more. This made it harder since I wasn't used to do it this fast.

"This kinda reminds me of Kokichi... After he played the game and lost, he told me he didn't need to steal my life because he stole my heart." I heard Shuichi tell the others.

"That's cute! Well, except the stealing your life part." Tsumugi said. After a few minutes, I got used to the speed so it got boring. This wasn't as fun as when I was doing it with Kokichi and D.I.C.E. If they had been here, playing the game with me, I would've had some competition.

Since it was getting boring, I stopped. "Everything's getting boring so I'm gonna go to my room." I told everyone. I put the knife back in the wooden block in the kitchen and when to my room.

While I was walking to my room, I made sure the remote to control the Exisals was still there. 'Good. It's still there.' I thought when I felt it.

I went into my room and got ready for bed. While I was sitting in the dark, I ended up thinking about Rantaro and Kokichi. I started crying and eventually fell asleep.
