While Constance was walking with the doctor, the man gave her a few information about the recovery. Jane would have to stay in hospital at least ten days to be sure she wouldn't have an infection before going to the cardiac surgery department to find the right treatment and to be sure she wasn't rejecting the new heart thanks to biopsies. Finally, she would go in a rehabilitation center with a program of cardiac and muscular rehabilitation and nutrition and psychological cares. It would be long, but the doctor was very optimistic.

The man opened the door to let Constance enter. The blonde girl froze a small moment before entering; the doctor closing the door behind her. Jane wasn't intubated anymore, she just had a mask to help her to breath, meaning she could breath by herself now. Two months ago, Constance would have never thought she would be happy to see her sister like that. She sat on the armchair next to her bed and grabbed her hand. She felt her fingers closing around hers. Constance wide opened her eyes and looked up. Jane was beginning to move, lightly opening her eyes. The first thing she saw was the ceiling. She lightly looked around and saw her sister who had tears in her eyes.

- "Hey," Constance softly said trying to contain her joy.

- "Hey," Jane weakly answered. "What happened?"

- "You have a new heart."

- "Really? I was wondering why I was breathing so well," she smiled.

- "You had been unconscious for two months."

- "Two months! Wow, it's long."

- "You have no idea. I'm happy to finally hear you. I missed you."

Jane weakly nodded. Constance explained her what happened while she was unconscious (avoiding the subject of her attempt of suicide), and what would happen to her after. Jane was already tired by all of this, but she was glad she had the chance to do all those rehabilitations.

The two sisters stayed a long moment just together, both enjoying this moment, hugging each other. But the blonde teen knew that her friends were waiting to see her. She went to a nurse and asked her if she could let some of them enter to see her. The woman accepted at the only condition to stay with them to be sure everything would be okay. Constance obviously accepted. The two women went back to the waiting to tell them. They all followed them to the girl's room. Troy quickly walked to her to take her in his arms while the others were waiting for their turns. Max stayed a bit behind, too overwhelmed to come closer.

- "I forgot that Dustin became a broccoli," Jane joked.

- "All because of you, don't forget that!" he answered.

They all laughed, relieved to finally see her. They stayed a moment to talk to her, but as it was late, some preferred leaving, preferring to see her another day where they wouldn't be all tired. Joyce noticed that Max didn't have the opportunity to talk to Jane, so she left with Will, letting Max alone with Jane.

- "Are you okay?" Jane asked.

- "Yeah. I'm a bit shaking," Max said, showing her shaking hand to her.

- "Well, I'm not shaking anymore."

Jane raised her hand in direction of the redhead to invite her to come closer. Max did. She took Jane's hand and sat on the armchair, unable to stop her tears. Jane was looking at her with a small smile while she was caressing her cheek.

- "Don't ever close your eyes for so long again," the redhead sniffed.

- "I won't."

- "I think I hate your eyelids now."

- "Can I, at least, blink?"

The two girls looked into each other's eyes before laughing. Max didn't want to let go Jane's hand; she had waited for so long to feel those fingers closing around hers that she wanted them to stay like that forever. Max spent her time caressing Jane's cheeks, tucking her hair behind her ears, or just kissing her hand.

- "What did I miss?"

- "So many chemistry works!"

- "Lucky me!" Jane joked.

- "It was less funny without you."

- "Yeah, you had no one to yell at."

Max gently pinched her girlfriend's skin which made them laugh.

- "You know, I think you have a new fan."

- "Oh, a fan? Who?"

- "Abigail."

- "What?" Jane frowned.

- "Yeah, I'm surprised too! But she asked us many times how you were, I even gave her phone number to Will, so she could ask him. I'm sure they are friends now."

- "Oh, that's great...It will be weird when I go back to school."

- "Yeah, but I can't wait to see you again there."

- "Me too."

- "I missed you."

- "I missed you too. I'm happy you came here to visit me," Jane said.

- "You heard us?" Max asked.

- "I'm not sure that everything I heard was real, but I felt all of you around me, it was cool. Did you read my magazine?"

Max wide opened her eyes, not expecting that. She opened her mouth but found nothing to answer, which made laugh her girlfriend.

Max raised her finger, remembering something. She looked at the nightstand and found the piece of paper she was looking for. She took it and showed it to Jane.

- "Aw, another drawing of Emily. So cute," Jane smiled.

- "Yeah, she is very cute. She hugged me after giving it to you."

- "Of course, she did. You are Brave, a Disney princess, who wouldn't hug a Disney princess!"

- "Yeah, you're right. But you'll have to treat me like a princess now!"

- "Yeah, well, Brave is not the kind who likes being treated like a princess."

- "...Damn, you're right."

The two girls chuckled. Max stood and sat on the bed. She gently grabbed the mask, took it off Jane's mouth, and leaned to her to kiss her. An explosion of butterflies took part of their bellies. Max had dreamt of this moment for months now. She missed so much feeling Jane so close to her, feeling her lips, her hands, her breathing, or even her look on her. All those moments with Jane seemed so far when she was unconscious that she was feeling like if she was living again now. Max wished she could have spent the night here, sadly, she had to go. But she would come back, without stressing and being sad this time. She couldn't wait to see her again.
