The afternoon sun shone high in the cloudy sky as some of its rays crept into the narrow alleyway where (Y/N) stood. She let out a sigh in frustration as she looked at the dark blue-clad male before her. Her attempts at trying to convince her brother seemed to be in vain. He was not budging at all. She figured this would be his reaction but she had hoped that her pleas would eventually persuade him to change his mind.

"C'mon Touya! You should come with me tomorrow to go see her."

"There's no way that's gonna happen (Y/N)," he responded with crossed arms as he leaned against the chain-link fence. He was growing tired of this. Her stubbornness had no end and he hated being on the receiving end of it.

"Aw, please! If Mom knows that you're alive, it could be what finally gets her out of there and back home to us. All of us," she explained to him. "I know it won't be that easy but-"

"Gosh, I said no. Don't you ever give up?" he gave an eye roll in response as he let out a sigh of his own. His little sister's expression now matched the sky above them as she frowned back at him.

"All I want is for us to be a family again..."

"Look (Y/N), this isn't what we agreed to." It was not like he wanted to see her upset but her dream of them becoming a "real" family again just seemed too unrealistic at this point. Was him showing up out of the blue really going to put an end to all of their family problems?

"I know but it's what Fuyumi's been trying to do for so long now and Natsuo... you guys were so close and-"

"Don't you even dare bring them up!"

"Sorry... I didn't mean to..." she uttered out before her voice went silent.

"No, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have snapped at you," he apologized. He thought his past could no longer hurt him after all these years but her words were starting to open up old wounds. Ones he did not want to face right now. "C'mon, there's someplace I wanna take you."

"Oh, where to?" she asked as he stepped away from the chain-link fence, placing his hands inside his pockets as he walked over to her.

"You'll see."

Maybe there's still a chance that I can convince him again after all of this is over...

Jumping over the brick wall, (Y/N)'s boots made contact with dead grass as they landed on the other side. Before her, stood a massive building that looked on the verge of collapse. Parts of its deteriorating exterior had been taken over by some of the nearby vegetation. Her brother did not need to trouble himself by telling her where they were. She knew what this place was despite never having been there before.
