AHQ was the first person to enter the kitchen. Her face was neutral, as usual. If no one was making her smile, she wouldn't. To everyone else, especially Rebecca, her neutral face meant the worst had happened.

"Oh God, please don't tell me he's - "

"Not dead. No one is. They're coming inside," AHQ reassured her. She exhaled deeply, as did Sharon.

Hmm. Sharon.

After her talk with Rebecca, she wants to make amends with her son. They've never had a good relationship. And the more she looked down on him, the further they grew from each other.

"Esther," she said to his girlfriend. The same girl she hated and accused of taking her son away.

Esther looked to Sharon, pointing at herself in confusion. "M-me? You're talking to me?"

"Yes," Sharon smiled a little. "I want to apologise-"

"Wynter!"

Both of them were distracted by Rebecca's relieved cry. She bent over to embrace Wynter, who had come into the kitchen with Hunter.
To Wyn, this was thrilling. Fun and games. Casyo gave her a stern telling off on the way back home. He warned her never to do that again. It may seem like a joke now, but Hunter won't always be there to catch her when she falls. "I'm ok," she said.

Rebecca let go of her and looked up at Hunter, "thank you for the drawing of the twins. It's beautiful; looks just like them."

"No problem. Sorry for tryna fight you in the toilet at Zakai's birthday," he chuckled. "We on the same page now." He gave her a side hug, then asked where the toilet was.

"Down the corridor, last room on the right." Once he went to the toilet, and Wynter left to go and shower, Rebecca began pacing again. She still hadn't seen Casyo, so she still wasn't ok. Until she laid eyes on him. Until she touched him. She wouldn't be ok.

Sharon watched them like a performance. Then the person she was waiting for came into the room. Her heart dropped to her feet. Because she saw. For the first time, she truly saw her son. His smooth skin. His jawline. The little boy she abandoned. He's all grown up. "Ede-"

But he saw Esther first. "Baby."

"E." He wrapped his arms around her. Sharon saw the way he protected her in his arms. She saw the love he had for her. "Oh God..."

He gently kissed her forehead, "I'm straight, don't worry. It's all good."

Sharon's chest was burning. He hadn't thought about her. In fact, after hugging Esther, he hugged Rebecca before even looking in his mum's direction. They'll treat you how you treat them. She was seeing the error of her ways, but didn't know how to fix it.

Eden eventually came to her. He poked Emmet's chin playfully and said, "sorry for keepin you up, lil man."

"Emmet is sleepy," Emmet said.

"I know, you can go bed now. I'll buy you McDonald's when you wake up, yeah?" Emmet rocked from side to side; it was sort of like his happy signal. Saint grinned, "gwarn, go upstairs, imma come tuck you in soon."

"Ok." Emmet went upstairs and Eden looked at his mum.

"Ma, you can go bed now." Sharon noticed the plainness in his voice. The way he spoke to her wasn't the same way he spoke to Esther or Rebecca or Emmet. He didn't speak with love. She's not hiding the fact that something's wrong, and he can sense it. "You aight?" He questioned.
