Chapter 50

(A/N: Hey everyone, hope you're all doing good! It's time for the next chapter, I left the last chapter on a bit of a dramatic cliffhanger and some of you were starting to 'hate' me (sorry, lol), this chapter is probably not going to make anything any better, I hope you guys don't hate me 'too' much for it :/, but the ending may leave you a little confused, but don't worry because any confusion will be cleared up in the next chapter, hopefully. Tell you what, it wasn't easy writing this chapter at all, and I had to try and get enough content in it to make it a long enough chapter so, hopefully it doesn't seem too I guess repetitive, I'm not really sure, but either way I hope you like it nonetheless.. and just a heads up, it is in Stefan's POV, as the last chapter finished in his POV and I haven't put it any differently to start with, just in case you feel confused when you start reading it, I know I've done quite a few different POVs in this story! Anyway, hope you enjoy it (somewhat), as always leave your comments, I do enjoy reading them, honestly, even if it's you guys 'hating' on me, lol. I park up in the driveway, eager to get inside and settle down. The last couple of days have been non-stop and I am exhausted. I look up at the house, still white from the snow that hasn't yet melted, although the roads are now clear, there is still a lot of snow around in general, especially here as the snow has been left untouched, apart from the few footprints Addi and I left the other day when she went into labour, but the snow has filled in the footsteps a little bit. The house has been empty and quiet while we have been a the hospital. Time to get inside and have a much needed rest.

I get out of the car and go to the boot, hearing the snow under each step I make, I grab the bag in there and then go to where Scarlett is, laying fast asleep in her car-seat. She has been a good girl, patient, a lot has happened. I unbuckle the seatbelt that is holding the car-seat secure and I grab the seat out.

"Lets get you inside sweetie" I say. I don't want her getting cold out here. I get to the front door and open it. "This is your home, baby" I tell her. The home that has been vacant for a couple of days. "Welcome home" I say as I look down at her beautiful little face. She stirs a little as she sleeps. I toss my keys in the side as I kick the door shut, it's cold enough without it getting colder in here.

I take the baby through to the kitchen, passing through the living-room, I catch sight of the photos, memories. Addison. The love of my life. Scarlett's Mother. Photos of me and her, wedding photos, family photos from both her side and mine. Photos that are so much more important to me now than they were before.

FLASHBACK

I open my eyes, blinking a few times to adjust to the light. I bring my hands up to rub the blurriness from my eyes. My arm feels something on me and I see it's some sort of tube, oxygen to my nose. I look around the room and begin to remember where I am, I'm in hospital, a patient.

"Hello, it's good to see you are now awake" I hear a ladies voice. I look over to the doorway and see a lady in scrubs. "I'm nurse Kelly, I've been one of the nurses looking after you" She introduces. A nurse.

"Erm, what's- what's going on?" I ask, very confused. I notice I'm still wearing my own clothes, rather than a hospital gown. I'm also hooked up to a machine that is beeping every second or two.

"You passed out so we had to basically admit you and give you oxygen" She answers. I had a panic attack. I remember that now.

"I remember, I was having a panic attack, how long was I out for?" I ask as I look around and try to gather my thoughts.

"A few hours, it was a pretty bad attack, understandable with your PTSD and everything else that was going on" She answers. She checks some paperwork and looks at the machine statistics.
