of perfection

we work

towards it

a few more pounds

hairdresser

and i'll look

a ben franklin

over the counter

to sephora

so that i feel

beautiful

one time

we are all

chasing

the highs

a bottle of

pinot noir

gone in half an hour

waking up in

someone else's

room

the delicious

satisfaction

of being told

"you

are

beautiful"

but we hear it

too rarely

all of us

the boys

and the girls

and everyone

in between

and because of it

we believe

that beauty

is unattainable

and maybe it is

maybe beauty

is perfection

and perfection

is unachievable...
