Project Amortentia | Jeverus

Part 1

Lily marveled at her best friend. They were standing by the black lake and Snape had just cast a patronus. It was a beautiful doe, wisps of blue and white sprung up with the majestic creature before them.

" Merlin. That's beautiful." Lily whispered. Snape smiled and looked down to her where she was sitting on the grass.

" Thank you. Okay now your turn." He turned to sit down on the blanket they brought as she stood up and switched spots with snape.

" Okay, ready?" Lily said more to herself than anyone. She focused intently, closing her eyes for about half a minute before finally whispering the spell.

" Expecto patronum."

A trail of blue magic flew from her wand, taking a second before morphing into a........ kitten?

" Huh?" Lily looked at it confused.

" Is it a..... kitten?"

" Yeah. It is."

Lily reached down to touch it. The kitten playfully ran around before landing on her hand and running circles around her.

" Aw. At least its cute."

" That's true"

Snape watched Lily play with the small cat before it disappeared into the air. Lily then stood up and reached out a hand for severus.

" Come on." She urged.

Snape groaned as he eventually took the offer and stood up, grabbing the blanket and everything with him.As they walked back to the castle a comfortable silence fell on them. When they made it back, they headed to the library.

They grabbed a table in the back and decided to just hang out there for a bit. Snape always quite enjoyed lily's company. She wasn't overly talkative and yet she always kept Snape intrigued and entertained. Maybe it was the fact they had been best friends since they were nine or maybe the fact that they just loved each others presence. whatever it was, snape was happy to have lily in his life.

" hey Lily, Snape"

James had walked up to the table. Snape slightly jumped, he hadn't even noticed him creep up on them.

" Potter" Snape spat bitterly.

" what's got your knickers in a twist?" James teased.

" nothing, just the brooding prat standing in front of me." Snape spat.

" anyway. Lily, what are you doing tonight." James turned his attention to lily.

Snape internally cringed. James was constantly going after lily. It was honestly pathetic how many times he's been rejected at this point.

" im going with snape to the dungeons." Lily told james, a blank look on her face.

" what? Why?" James asked.

" because hes brewing a potion and im accompanying him." Lily flipped open her charms book and started reading.

" mind if i join?" James asked.

" um excuse me? Hello? Im the one brewing and id rather not have a mini audience with me."

" oh whats two people?" James rolled his eyes.

" two is fine but im assuming your posse will be following your every move."

James scoffed and snape sneered back.

" fine. Come, dont, i really dont give a damn." Snape closed his potions book and grabbed his bag, getting up to take his leave.
