Part 21 ( last part)

The marauders and marlene stood anxiously in the room of requirements. James paced around nervously as every fiber in his being tried his best to not apparate right now to severus' side.

" why did i let him go, why did i do that. God what if i never get to hold him again? what if he actually dies? i can't-"

" prongs. Relax mate. Severus is completely capable of doing this i promise you."

" yeah you're right. he can do thi-"

James then felt dizzy. a pain shot through his back and he felt the magic dissipate from inside him. His eyes widened in realization and he staggered back. Sirius grabbed onto his arm in order to keep him balanced as he started hyperventilating.

" severus. no. no no no no no. I have to go i can't stand here and let that happen."

" James! what i sit!?" sirius yelled.

" the magic i gave him. it...its gone. it dissipated. he got hit with the killing curse." James breathed.

Everyones eyes widened in shock. Everyone had to hold james back while he tried to run out the room. Lily eventually wished the door away and they were officially trapped.

James crumbled to the floor as he tears ran down his face. Severus. Harry. His son. The love of his life. They were both in danger and there was nothing he could do.

" Meet me at the astronomy tower"

severus' voice appeared in everyones mind. James' eyes widened as relief washed over him. They all shared a look of shock before they ran towards the entrance as fast as possible.

lily conjured up a door and they burst through it. they ran to the tower as quick as they can, panting and wheezing as they increased their speed.

James was in the front, running up the spiral staircase leading to the top of the tower.

When they eventually made it to the door, james burst through it with so much force the door slammed against the wall behind it.

There, on the ledge of the tower was Severus, the man who just beat the most powerful dark wizard of all time.

His dark black cloak rustled in the wind, exposing the suit and dress robes he was wearing underneath.

He didn't move. not when they came in, not when they burst the door open.

" sev!" someone yelled.

Surprisingly it wasn't Sirius, james or lily but instead Remus.

Severus slowly looked back at them and grinned, harry sleeping in his arms. Lily gasped as tears ran down her face. she fell to the floor in sobs. marlene came to her girlfriends side and hugged her deeply.

remus then ran up to snape, tackling him in a bone crushing hug that looked much too painful to be pleasant.

" you stupid, fucking selfish stubborn asshole. how could you do that alone? How could you not call for backup? we thought you were dead." Remus whispered as he sobbed. Severus kept a small smiled on his face but tears were evident in his eyes.

" remus? Please take the baby" severus whispered. Remus pulled back and finally saw how exhausted severus looked.

Sirius walked over and took the baby from his arms, although severus was reluctant even though he was the one who asked him to be taken away.

As soon as harry was out of his arms, severus collapsed to the floor in sobs. Remus fell with him, supporting him to his chest.

" i am so exhausted. i am so tired. it hurts so so bad." severus said between sobs. Remus sobbed with him and kept reassuring him everything is fine.
