" WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN SEVERUS IS DOING THAT? WHO THE FUCK AUTHORIZED THAT?" Lily yelled at sirius.

" please lily the baby-"

" HARRY IS FINE! I PUT MUFFLIATO ON HIS CRIB. YOU CANNOT BE FUCKING SERIOUS RIGHT NOW!" 

sirius flinched as lily shouted. she ran her hands through her long hair and took in deep breaths so that she doesn't freak out anymore than she already is. 

" you are meaning to tell me that my best friend of 12 years is going to go in a disguise tonight so that he can risk his life for me and i have to run away to HOGWARTS?!" Lily seethed.

sirius was really regretting coming over tonight. 

" yes. and we need a strand of james' hair."

" oh my god! you guys are actually fucking doing this!" Lily grabbed her temples and shook her head.

" lily please calm down-"

" you cannot tell me to fucking calm down while severus is getting ready to fight the most powerful dark wizard in the whole fucking magic world!" 

sirius nodded and looked down. His hands were in his leather jacket while lily took a seat and exhaled. 

" please. please tell me he has protection" lily asked.

" he does. We have an auror field team waiting around the block in case he needs it. Every member of the order is on call and severus will be cast with a protection charm."

" who is casting it?'

" well.... actually he wants you to do it."

" what?"

" he wants the most powerful charms master he knows to do it and he chose....you. Also he wants that opportunity to say goodbye, in case something happens." 

" oh god." Lily put her hand to her mouth and gasped. 

She leaned back in her chair and glanced back at harry.

" did you tell james?'

" well actually-"

" sirius, no. You didn't tell james?"

" well he asked me not to-"

" SIRIUS ORION BLACK! YOU DID NOT TELL YOUR BEST FRIEND THAT THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE MIGHT DIE!?"

" hes not gonna die lily!"

" you dont know that!" 

"look we are all on edge here but the best thing you can do for severus right now is to stay calm. He needs you and james to be safe and calm, it is already such a big mission and a LOT is riding on this."

" YEAH! LIKE HIS LIFE!"

" AND YOU AND JAMES'! and harry's life and draco's future and the whole entire goddamn wizarding world is counting on him and he has been undercover for the past 3 years! he is under a lot of stress right now! he couldn't even patch things up with james! he is under so much pressure and the least you can do is try not to yell at him and freak out like he is going to die!"

sirius yelled back. Lily stayed quiet and breathed in deep breaths. she finally nodded and closed her eyes.

" i know i know. He is very capable of doing this but.... if he doesn't make it then... what do i tell james? what do we tell his students? the world? we let a potions master die because he needed to fight in place of us?" lily whispered.

" i dont know what my life will be like without him. The last few years he has been undercover has been hard enough but at least he was always there, just. What if he...." lily trailed off into sobs.
