After James spent the entire walk down with the slytherins and watching sirius try to trip his brother about 5 times, fail, then trip on himself at the threshold of the great hall, he finally departed ways with severus.
He didn't like being away from him, but he understood that he needed his space. He sat down at his usual spot opposite of lily and pouted.
"Oh cheer up mate! you've only been away from eachother 2 minutes!" Sirius pat his back.
" feels like 2 years to me" James grunted.
The marauders and a few of the other gryffindors snickered at the head boy's behavior.
James ignored them and stared intently at severus, so much so the slytherin could almost feel the holes being burned into the side of his head. He looked up to see a slightly startled and red james staring at him. severus pursed his lips and waved slightly in which james quickly turned away and hid his face. It was adorable, severus could never deny it but he would never admit it out loud.
" oooh. Someone is smitten." Andromeda teased. Andy was always the first one to tease and bellatrix always encouraged her. To be honest bellatrix wasn't even supposed to be here. She graduated a year ago but she was at hogwarts for an apprenticeship under Slughorn and she REFUSED to sit at the teachers table. Narcissa was a year younger than andy and her, severus and lucius were due to graduate in 8 months, narcissa and regulus next year.
Lucius always bragged about his engagement to narcissa and how they are 'betrothed' and Bellatrix never failed to catch him on that and make fun of him endlessly. This is what he loved about his friends, they were mean, sarcastic and they weren't afriad to kill, but they would burn the world down for the people they loved, like true villains.
there were a lot of rumors about their group being affiliated with the dark lord but to be honest it was all lies. The only people who were actually joining was Lucius and bellatrix, but that was because lucius was going in as a spy and bellatrix was being forced to by her husband Lestrange. Regulus was also due to be involved but it wasn't yet confirmed.
" MAY I GET YOUR ATTENTION!"
Severus and the entire great hall snapped their heads to the gryffindor table. James was standing on the gryffindor table yelling while sirius was laughing his ass off in the back.
" ummmmm what the fuck is he doing?" lucius leaned in to severus.
" i dont know luci. I'm scared to find out." severus whispered back.
" I WOULD JUST LIKE TO KNOW IF SEVERUS SNAPE WOULD LIKE TO GO ON A DATE WITH ME!" James yelled on the top of his voice.
Bellatrix, narcissa and andromeda were laughing and cackling like crazy. Regulus was trying to bite back his laughter and lucius just stared at james dumbly. Severus sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. He stood up and grabbed his book bag, going outside the great hall.
" WAIT IS THAT A YES? NO? MAYBE? You are an excellent potion maker does that change anything?" James ran after the poor slytherin leaving the entirety of the great hall dying of laughter, even Dumbledore couldn't resist letting out a few chuckles.
" wait sev!" James caught up to snape. Severus turned back and raised an eyebrow.
" yes potter?"
James' heart stung a bit from the last name but he shrugged it off.
" so??? your answer is?"
" hold up you were being serious? i just assumed that was a dare from one of your stupid house mates." Severus asked confused.
