~Alesa's POV~
"I don't feel so great," I muttered, grabbing my stomach with one hand, and clapping the other over my mouth. I rushed to the bathroom, and leaned over the sink. Morning sickness? In the middle of June? I can only guess what that means...
"Adam!" I screamed. "I need to go to the doctor."
~Quentin's POV~
Alaska is freezing. I really wish there was another area in my budget, but Juneau was the only city I could find with a reasonable price for a reasonable sized home. Then again, living with Team Crafted was only a sliver worse than being here.
I would've stayed, believe me, but drama isn't my strong suit. I couldn't deal with everything; here in Alaska, I'm far away from it all, as ridiculous as it sounds. It's almost calming, really, being away from the world. As far away as it gets, really, in a small town in the most freezing area of the United States.
It's only been a day since I arrived, but I'm starting to warm up to this place. No pun intended.
~Rene's POV~
"All the invites were sent. I told everyone to bring some money to cover the costs for producing the sweatshirts, too," I announced. Jerome was on his phone again, probably looking at pictures of him and Mitch for the thousandth time. He claims Merome wasn't ever going to happen, but... He can never say it without his face flushing.
"Okay," he muttered, not looking up. I would've taken a seat, after working almost an hour straight on sending e-mail after e-mail, text after text, but Jerome's feet were propped up across one arm of the chair, and he took up the whole couch. I decided not to bother him, so I sat down on the coffee table instead.
"What're you doing? You haven't looked up from your phone since lunch," I reminded him. He just blinked, his eyes still staring at the middle of the screen. His phone was held up in both his hands, but his left thumb was sliding down the screen. Instagramming while talking to me? I didn't think he was that shallow. Who am I kidding. He isn't.
"Huh? Oh, nothing. I just-" he paused, finally making eye contact with me. I could tell something was bothering him- beyond Mitch not being here. His eyes were teary, and his mouth was set in a straight line. He took a gasp of air, and sat up a little straighter, not breaking his gaze.
"Did Mitch ever say anything about a girlfriend? Any relationship he was ever in?" he asked suddenly. I shook my head slowly.
"Not unless you count his little moment with Hannah, no," I replied lightly. Jerome looked down at the floor and sighed. "Why do you ask?"
He didn't respond for a moment. He just shook his head, still facing the ground. I placed a gentle hand on his shoulder, and raised my eyebrows slightly.
"Why?" I repeated. He looked up at me, as serious as I've known possible for him.
"This girl, Jess, just posted some picture of her and Mitch online. She said she was 'heartbroken to get the news,' that 'Heaven gained an angel' or some sappy lovey dovey quote.I've never even heard the name Jess before. How could Mitch not tell me about her?" he seemed offended.
"I hate to say it, but maybe Mitch wasn't as close to you as you might've thought," I said solemnly. He sighed again, took another deep breath.
"I hate to say it, but I think you might be right."
~Hannah's POV~
"Hannah! Winta! Can you come down here, please? In the kitchen!" Adam called. I set down my phone on my bed, and raced down the stairs. Winta was right behind me.
When we got downstairs, Tyler, Nicole, Kyle, Alesa, Adam, and that girl Brielle were all gathered around the table. Adam and Alesa were standing at the end, a broad smile on their faces, Adam's arm draped across Alesa's shoulder.
"We have some important news," Adam declared. "Alesa?" Alesa took a deep breath, almost choking on her words.
"No, you say it," she whispered, her voice cracking with her tears. Of joy, I hoped.
"Okay then. Friends, family-" his smile widened.
"I'm going to be a father."
