I wake up with the realisation that IT'S OBVIOUSLY PROFESSOR LENGEL!! I mean the cake was in her office and she hates Harry. Hermione isn't in the dorm. She's probably in the common room. I need to tell everyone that I figured it out. I quickly get out of bed and sprint into the common room where the whole group are sat.

I shout, "It was Professor Lengel!"

They all look at me as I try to catch my breath.

"Good morning to you too, Jessa" Ron jokes.

I walk over to the group and tell them what I am thinking "It has to be Professor Lengel, right? I mean she gives Harry detentions for stupid things so she can get him alone and the cake was in her office. It all just adds up."

"That's actually true point. She hates Harry" Neville agrees.

"Oh yeah. Why didn't we think that in the first place?" Seamus adds.

"Let's go and tell Dumbledore then" Dean says, and we all start to leave.

"Wait" Hermione shouts and we all stop. "It can't be her."

We all walk over to her "What do you mean Hermione? It's obvious what's happened" Ron says.

"That's what I'm thinking. It's too obvious. Lengel is a smart woman and she wouldn't make it that easy, would she? Yeah, I guess that she doesn't like Harry, but she's not the only one who doesn't like him."

The six of us take a minute to think through what she said.

"Are you implying that it could be You-Know-Who?" Dean worriedly asks.

Hermione looks away and gives a scared nod. We all have a moment of silence. Could he actually be the one behind this? But how? Something still tells me Draco Malfoy is doing this. He hates Harry and he could have framed Lengel so he could get out of it. But I don't want to suggest him though because the group will start watching him in detail and they could find out that me and him sort of had a thing. I'm still annoyed with him though. However, I know we'll sort things out.

"Do you think he's at the school?" I query.

Hermione exhales "Maybe."

"But there's no signs that he's here, Hermione, and not only that but Dumbledore would have found out by now anyway. I think your theory is a load of rubbish" Ron yells. He almost looks concerned when saying this.

Hermione looks angry and then challenges him "Okay Ronald, if you think my theory is such rubbish, then what's yours?"

"Um... uh... well" Ron stutters.

"Exactly. Anyone else got a better theory?"

The room is silent until Dean suggests "Well, I'm not saying that your theory is bad, but I reckon it could be someone in the school."

I give him a stern look. For fucks sake. Now people are going to think it could be Malfoy. He was the one who told me not to suggest him yet. What does he think he's doing?

I quickly snap before anyone can speak "I don't think so."

Dean realises I'm pissed off "Maybe not, but just a suggestion."

We all decide to get ready and go to the hospital wing. When we arrive, Harry is sitting up with a glass of water. Madam Pomfrey tells us that he can leave when he wants to.

"Good morning guys" Harry says. We say it back.

"What happened?" Hermione asks.

"I don't know actually. I was just doing my work in detention, as you do. And then Professor Lengel left for a few seconds and then I heard the door slowly open behind me and it got colder but I didn't turn around and then I felt all dizzy. After a few moments, I got light headed and then I saw darkness" Harry tells us all.

"Are you sure that is what happened? You don't remember eating a cake?" Hermione questions.

He shakes his head "Maybe I did, but I can't remember that part happening."

"That's strange" I add.

Harry gets out of bed and we leave the wing. Everyone enters the common room, but I grab Deans hand before he can go in. "Follow me" I demand, and we head into the corridor by the Great Hall.

"What's up?" Dean asks. Has he forgotten?

"How have you already forgotten what you did wrong?" I sigh.

Dean thinks for a second "Ohh."

"Oh indeed. You told me to not tell them!"

"Well I didn't actually tell them."

"It was close enough. If I didn't answer you, they would have already worked out that it could be Malfoy. I know he's a knob, but we can't start telling people yet, like you said we haven't got enough evidence."

"I'm sorry Jessa. I know it was stupid of me... I was thinking, what if we find out it is him, are you going to tell everyone or keep it a secret?"

I sigh and shrug my shoulders.

"You wouldn't tell them, would you?"

"I'm not sure Dean. As much as I think I'd love to see Malfoy's life get destroyed, I couldn't actually put myself through it. And I wouldn't be able to live with the fact that it was my fault too."

Dean rolls his eyes "I see the type of person you are, Jessa. Selfish."

I gasp "How?"

"Putting a love interest that is toxic and will never actually be anything more than just him thinking he can use you because your vulnerable, in front of your real friend that actually cares about you. That just describes how selfish you are!"

Wow. I begin to become all emotional. When he puts it like that it sort of hurts me. I guess he's right though. He walks off leaving me speechless and on the verge of tears. What if Malfoy is just using me? He can't be, the connection is so... real. I do put Malfoy in front of my friends like all the time. Maybe I am selfish.

For the rest of the night I feel low. I can't stop thinking about what Dean said. I am selfish. I do care about Harry, but I have a stupid crush on Malfoy. Even though I can't stand him most of the time, I still like him. The memory of him saying "No" when I asked him about if he would tell his parents, replays in my head. What an idiot. I just don't know why he'd hide me from his parents.

I lie in bed. Hermione is awake and says, "I just don't get it."

"What?" I ask in confusion.

"Harry doesn't remember eating the cake. It doesn't make sense. We found him in Lengel's office eating the cake. We saw it with our own eyes. Harry's story doesn't add up to what we saw."

"Yeah it is a bit weird, but I don't think we should think too much in it. Maybe we should get some rest and talk to Dumbledore tomorrow."

"No.I don't think we should tell Dumbledore just yet. We'll give it a bit of timeuntil something crazy happens but let's hope nothing crazy does happen."
