The total blackness started to fade, revealing trees, broken walls, a bright moon, the buff guy, Swedish girl, some nervous looking guy with glasses that I didn't notice before.
I looked around and.. for a few seconds, I swear I couldn't do anything else. The buff guy spoke to me as two others crept away.
Why were they crouching like that?
"Stay down and keep up with me." He grumbled out as he began to move.
"Wait!" I yelled after him.
He spun on his heels, eyes wide.
"What's going on!?"He was on me again, pressing me against a broken brick wall, his hand clasped over my mouth, stopping me from speaking. The force of his palm caused my head to bang against the wall and I let out a muted groan.
"Listen closely." Buff-man said through gritted teeth, his eyes a mix of anger and worry...mostly anger.
"You won't survive if you don't do what I say."Is he threatening me?
I struggled against him, and his grip on me became more firm.
He exhaled, whispered to himself, "Why do I have to babysit?"
We heard an explosion somewhere to our right, impossible to tell how far away. The noise distracted Buff-man, it's my chance to get away from him.
My arms pushed up on his, fast and hard, and I dropped to the ground. His grip on me was broken and, using all the force I could muster, my legs sprung and my body squeezed past him.
I felt his fingers try to find hold on my shoulder but I shook away.
Sprinting, I glanced back to see him still standing there, not chasing me, but I wasn't an idiot.. I kept running anyways.
I passed more stone rubble and trees, thick fog whisking around my feet. I heard a mechanical rumble, and saw a house.
A farm house? The lights are on!
Maybe they have a phone.. Maybe I can call for help there. The source of the mechanical rumble was revealed to me as I ran passed a large boulder. The glasses guy was there, exposing the wires of an emergency generator.
Is he is trying to cut the power!?
I didn't stop running until I got inside the house and then a foul smell that's impossible to identify wrinkled my nose.
My heart was pounding, and I felt adrenaline oozing through my body.
Looking around, this place was in tatters, I doubted anyone lived here.
But is there a phone?
My heart began beating faster. I made a quick turn, darting into another room and slammed into someone. Someone big.. no, huge.
A bloody apron, thick arms. In one hand, a chainsaw, the other wielded a giant hammer.
My body froze, but my eyes kept looking up.
This man's face.. it's not on right.
His hammer hand reached up towards my chin but I pushed it away. As I turned to run, the chainsaw reved.
He let out a roaring guttural scream, and suddenly, my back felt warm. I was on the ground before I knew it. Red fluid pooled around me.
Is this mine?
I felt where I was hit, the back of my left shoulder seared. It felt like tar boiling my skin.
Screaming, grunting, I crawled towards the door, but was scooped up and thrown over a shoulder. My wound widened and ripped, stealing my breath but my arms flailed anyways.
Looking down, it felt like I was ten feet in the air. This man was a monster.
Where is he taking me?
As soon as I wondered, he tossed me from his shoulder.
I was blinded by pain. Horror struck as I looked down to see a hook protruding from my upper body. I was hanging by it.
My arms instinctively reached up and grabbed onto something. I pulled up and slipped. The weight of my body only further hooking me.
I can't move anymore. I'll die from pain alone.
Eventually, I became aware of what's around me. The butcher stood feet from me, just staring. Behind him, in the distance, I saw Buff-guy and Swedish-girl watching, whispering.
The butcher touched my face and I screamed and kicked, but it just caused more pain.
Why are they doing this to me? None of this makes sense.
I hung there helpless as I watched the two people in the background run off, choking as my wound bled from the inside.
Suddenly, several long, spear-like legs appeared around me. At first they were still, like a trap waiting to be triggered. Then they snapped, gutting me.
The pain was an inferno and I was trapped in its' grasp. And then, I felt nothing. I felt light, like I was floating. Like I was a ghost. I had died on a hook.
